I feel ya dude! I was in the Marines. I’ve lost 3 Skeletools, some Gerbers (I don’t miss them at all), and a Wave. Some of my losses I believe were do to sticky fingers. I’m older and more experienced now, no one touches my tools other than me, shit doesn’t get lost anymore.
I've used the Leatherman Skeletool for a long while, it's durable, comfy, and doesn't feel too big in your hands or pocket. Also it's just useful in general and is a respectable knife.
Recently picked my first and only Leatherman up in the midsize Sidekick and have been happy with all it has to offer.... Great intermediate multi tool and the spring assist pliers is a great feature. I also have the Gerber dime for small jobs. I see your point where you have a bunch of different leathermans, some of them overlap features and become obsolete.....
I have the Sidekick and really haven't found the need to upgrade yet. Every task was manageable with the tools given. On my Keychain I have the PS4 Squirt.
I have used and totally abused a leatherman surge nearly every day for over 6 years..it is still going strong...have not even had to change the Phillips bit....what a superb product and company

I can understand the love affair you guys have for leatherman, being made in the US n all which is a good thing...but here goes... I had the original wave when it first came out WOW! was that great! I still have it retired away.. I picked up the original Swisstool with the two blades, one serrated. I carried that 15yrs straight... near perfection...then I got the new wave and was sooooo disappointed... Small scissors and I didn’t like the bit drivers.. to easy to lose in the field and still no reamer awl so I gave it to my son straight out the box.. after running the swisstool a while I soon realized that the serrated blade wasn’t getting used much as the other blade was so damn good it made it redundant.. when the swisstool x came out with the scissors I soon bought that little beauty! For me the simplicity of the original wave was fantastic even without the awl but once you’ve tried and worked with the swisstool x you won’t go back to leatherman. Having tools like a Chisel, a reamer awl and a designated pry bar as standard as well as the other kit is a no brainer. The build quality is fantastic and comes with a lifetime warranty. I haven’t left leatherman completely but in the full size multi tool market Victorinox rules... now in the smaller range I carry the original juice xe6.. what a fantastic little tool, I love it! Wouldn’t give house room to the new model.. again leatherman messed with the recipe... I’ve heard all the reasons for it.. still not impressed.. I’ve been offered silly money for my xe6.. enough to buy two new models but I will never sell it... heed this.. if Victorinox produce a juice sized multi tool based on their quality knife range crossed with the Swisstool.. Their first go was the spirit x if they can get that down to juice size.....leatherman would have a real problem.....

The gerber suspension is my favorite! The others are compact, but just hard to use for my big hands. Not to mention, the gerber has taken one hell of a beating and is ONLY $22!! Love this thing! Thanks for the vid!
I have a Gerber suspension as while and agree it's a great tool! Nothing beats Leatherman though in my opinion. The price may be high but they redeem themselves with the massive quality difference. I also have the Gerber MP600 as well as the Leatherman Wave, Wave+, and Signal!
Nice job! I have the first run of the Wave, it came with a high quality leather case. It did not come with the magnetic screwdriver adaptor wich would have came in handy. My wife gave it to me almost 20 years ago as a wedding gift! I loved it, now I miss it! It was stolen from me when we were fishing from shore, I set it on a rock after using the scissors to cut some line, I walked down stream for no more than 10min. and when I fealt it not in my leather case that is always on my. belt, I ran ran my butt off back to that rock to find it GONE! I had a feeling that the teenage kids had stolen it but nobody had seen it, even though one kid was fishing 3feet from the rock I left it on! I went back to my car and cried, and I never cry! It was the first gift my wife had given me as Husband and Wife! All I have is the leather case and I have no way of replacing it with a new Wave because of a bad car wreck that almost killed me not long after my Wave was stolen! We are in financial ruins and can barely pay for our house and keep food on the table. We have a wonderful 8yr old daughter that needs the basics, so thier is just no way for me to even purchase a $5 dollar garbage multi tool. This video just brought a flood of emotion that I don't have the words for. Thank you for your service, and may God Bless you!
Watching this video motivated me to upgrade my old JuiceC2 to an S2 model (the one featured in your video). Sadly I learned that Leatherman has retired the Juice S2 - and they’re selling for stupid money on eBay. Guess I’ll count myself lucky and hold on to the C2
I have the Micra, got it in a lot of used knives for around $10 for the lot of 9 items, nothing missing from the Micra, it has scissors instead of pliers
I own the Surge, 2x style CS perfect 420 back up, 2x Crunch and a Skeletool CX. If I had to pick one multutool for life, the king of multitools the SURGE. Skeletool CX holds a J, perfectly, and replaces my kitchen pairing knives for pealing potatoes lol.
Great vid, please make one for the top 5 EDC Flashlights that can be easily attached to the brim of a cap, things to consider such as... the lightest one, longest lasting battery, least likely to fall off, if there are neutral light versions to be easy on the eyes versus bright white for tactical/self defence purposes, most durable, ease of charging, other helpful features eg. magnet on the end etc. I think many people would appreciate this so they can turn their EDC flashlight into a headlamp by attaching to the brim of their cap when needed, thanks in advance.
I only carry my Victorinox Alox. I have never found myself needing one of those big multi-tools. I always found proprietary tools just work better than a multi tool.
I like Swiss Army knives too, but I prefer a multi-tool with pliers, especially for EDC. The Leatherman Fuse was my edc for years and recently replaced it with the Wave+ and do not regret it. I like either the Super Tool 300 or Rebar for putting in my camping kit or hiking pack respectively. The Victorinox tools with pliers are just too overpriced for offering very similar performance in my opinion.

I've had 2 charges that got lost now its price is up alot, i got a surge for the stronger pliers and wire cutters which I actually broke, now back to a wave as my EDC
This is an old comment, but it looked a lot like the Cabela's store brand multi tool. It comes in 5 different colors, and that teal has to be the most common.
Had the wave for a couple months. Loved it! It came up missing... so disgusted! Why do people help themselves to your things? I may try another one one day...
Love your channel and your videos are always so well done. I have an odd question - many of these tools and many pocket knives have a bottle opener. Do a lot of people actually need them? I just wonder because almost all the bottles that I open use a twist off cap, but maybe that is just me. I do know that a can opener can be a real need in an emergency, to open food cans, etc. BTW I have several Leathermans, but have not been as keen on buying more since I found that their head man and founder is not a fan of the Second amendment. anyway, take care and be well.
Don't waste tour money on the skeletool , squirt or the signal. If your gonna get into learhermans get a full sized one. Wave,st300,rebar, surge,wingman or sidekick are amazing options. Better than these on the table and if u don't like the weight of leathermans go victorinox swiss champ or fieldmaster

Fy'all info, Tim zlearherman developed the first multitool after a european vacation where he had to continuously fix a car. He went to EVERY knife maker to produce it but no one wanted it. So he made them and history himself. Peace!

I always use Victorinox and they don't have players and multi tools is to big for me. So I'm good with Skeletool also Vic don't have nothing normal, like they are stayed in 2WW also multi tool means that is toll for multi purpose but Vic. Haw only purpose pen , sizars and screw driwer whic is upgrade that is home run for them and they can doo so much more , look that knife ,what is that ,they yust dont care eny more . I don't understand why the signal exists... It seems so useless with the " Chinese looking made" plastic whistle/ferro rod, with that you will not have many strikes with it. Now, the "sharpener" you'll most likely cut yourself trying to sharpen the blade with it. I'd would buy it if they removed the whistle, ferro rod, and sharpener. OR... as i saw on the urban preppers video, they could find a way to integrate a whistle into a bit or something like that. Possibly Add some morse code signals, and add a ruler, a file, and some scissors.. But that will most likely not happen, if it did though it would make the cost so much higher. Oh well. Now, the only ones that are useful to me is the skeletool, juice, ps4, wave, charge, style cs and ps.

I love the Leatherman Style. Clips on my key chain and is next to no weight. I have found a use for all the tools on it so far multiple times over.

Yeah I had a Buck tool but got lost in a move, I just got the Leatherman Wave+ black to replace it.

I only carry my Victorinox Alox. I have never found myself needing one of those big multi-tools. I always found proprietary tools just work better than a multi tool.

I like Leatherman. I wish they would ditch those 2D bits. The Rebar is my current fav.
I hate the 2D bits also so I made an adapter from a 1/4 inch bit extension to use the standard bits and 1/4 inch drive sockets with my skeletool.

I don't understand why the signal exists... It seems so useless with the " Chinese looking made" plastic whistle/ferro rod, with that you will not have many strikes with it. Now, the "sharpener" you'll most likely cut yourself trying to sharpen the blade with it. I'd would buy it if they removed the whistle, ferro rod, and sharpener. OR... as i saw on the urban preppers video, they could find a way to integrate a whistle into a bit or something like that. Possibly Add some morse code signals, and add a ruler, a file, and some scissors.. But that will most likely not happen, if it did though it would make the cost so much higher. Oh well.
Now, the only ones that are useful to me is the skeletool, juice, ps4, wave, charge, style cs and ps.
And you won't have many strikes with a multitool that has no ferro rod at all; either. Bonehead.
