Some Terraria mods that's actually good... (Terraria overhaul, mod of redemption, fargo's mod...)

- Terraria has a lot of mods. I've covered some of the... "good, quality, and very nicely built mods"... or bad ones. bad ones that makes your brain bleed. But what if I actually cover some of the good mods? Like Overhaul?... which I have never played...

I played Terraria overhaul a bit, and my brain is melting away; and other mods were quite interesting too, like survivaria was interesting one, and mod of redemption would be fun to play when I do supermod play... which, I don't do.
That's because I don't usually play mods that changes the game completely (total conversion mod). Base game is good enough, and I want to have extra flavor to the base game. But, that doesn't mean I don't like those; well, at least the base game is bad, I just always turn on that mod... if they have any.
These were my first experience with overhaul, or any other mod other than calamity... or cheat menus... so, hope you enjoy...

The terraria overhaul mod makes terraria more realistic
And bosses even have a dying animation when you kill them
1:24 the designer for Siren left calamity due to differences and took back their creation and is making a separate mod with that one included. Not wanting to entirely erase the concept, they changed both the design and backstory.

There's a rare mob from the mod of redemption that i'm surprised that not a single youtuber has encountered: The Soulless.
It's a rare enemy that appears anywhere underground. It doesn't move or attack or even deal contact damage, but instead darkens your screen and plays some sort of creepy ambient loop.
Upon death, it says "Ka senkar'ned Nyht il olv li's Syht, Lite'nin Ka Lyht exum Ka Fryht, Eui Ka Myht ut Ka Holy Knight"
Just thought i should point that out, because as of now, i think that i'm the only person aware of this thing lol.
not saying you should make a video on this, but as i said, just want some people to be aware of it

In fact, if you were to read the text, it translates to the Last Redemptions tooltip, which is the sword of the Demigod of Light, which will in the future be the final boss for the bad route, which reads “The darkened Night will lose its Sight, Leaving the Light command the Fright, And the Might to the Holy Knight” this is very interesting and leaves some implications for future content, there is a lot of foreshadowing in fact.

@Vatan Kömürcü giving Calamity a 9/10 even excluding those two things is a fucking joke. It is objectively not a good mod. It's a prime example of "quantity over quality" with zero quality assurance, no multiplayer, and the worst power creep in gaming. It's only popular because it's huge. But it is legitimately not a good mod lol

@@verde7595 It's quality too! At the start the mod was MUCH smaller and with the old textures, but now they refined everything and it became 100 times as good.

@@Aeronium if your character name is fabsol or Totalbiscuit and you have only one NPC in the world (not 100% sure about that), you will not take any dmg (excluding infernado and DoG head on death mode)
I have a lot of things to complain about for each mod for the game, so i'm gonna try to keep it in a tl;dr format
- Calamity
Many bosses are too bullet hell-like to work in Terraria. Terraria was not made with bullet hells in mind. Also, the mod has some of the edgiest lore i've seen and the devs take the mod WAYYYYYYYY too seriously.
- Overhaul
While I appreciate the massive overhaul to how ranged works, I feel like it makes the game a lot more... How should I say it, groggy? It just feels a lot slower, plus jump height is massively reduced, which is super annoying. Camera changes, as well. Seasons are okay I guess, but honestly overhaul tries too hard to be realistic, and it does it in the worst ways possible (fire system is purely showing of exactly how it's too realistic).
- Mod of Redemption
This one, compared to the others, is a lot better in my opinion. The bosses are a lot more fun to fight than Calamity's IMO, and the laboratory is a very cool structure in the world. It does have it's issues, though. It's comparable to a bunch of paper cuts, the issues with the mod are small, but there are quite a few. Hard to put my finger on exactly _what_ is the problem, though. It's alright though, definitely give it a try.
- Survivaria
Same story as Overhaul, tries to bring in "realistic" mechanics, ends up flopping terribly and is executed in a pretty bad way. 'Nuff said.
- Fargo's Soul Mod
Sure, it looks like complete and utter bullet hell, but at least from the beginning to Golem, it is purely just a harder difficulty (They make Lunatic Cultist into a pillar-lobbing maniac, which is cool but complete ass to play against. Also, there are bullet hell post-ML bosses, but compared to calamity i'd argue they're done a little bit better.). I honestly enjoy playing through it, but god if the souls aren't grindy. It's already bad enough that armor takes forever to grind for, why did they have to include entire sets into the recipes? Other than that, fun mod. Fuck Moon Lord, though. Hopefully in the update tomorrow they make them a lot better.

Just a word about the doki doki-like corruption music of overhaul and the corruptor being here pre-hm : it's because you started the game with autumn season and in overhaul during autumn the corruption and crimson enter a way more brutal state, when another season hits it gets back to normal music and enemies

Overhaul is best played by itself without any other mods.
I can't wait for tmodloader to get updated to 1.4. I absolutely hate the grinding in vanilla after what happened to me last time i played it. (Literally everything went wrong, i was forced to fish for some accesories because they didn't even spawn, i must've killed like 9000 chaos elementals in still no rod and a lot of other things that just made that playthrough extremely painful). Modded also makes the game way longer and less grindy with certain qol mods (Reduced Grinding, ImkSushi, Quality of life: Recipes, Vein Miner, etc.).
Overhaul plus calamity snow Ruffin set and a blizzard in a bottle allows you to break the speed of sound going 800mph
I can’t wait to get into terraria mods. I used to play terraria on an old laptop so I never got to try it. One day my brother broke it, enabling me to be able to build a new computer with way better specs. I can’t wait to try all of these.

Adam the corruptor on pre-hardmode is because you have choose the season that the corruption/crimson gets "empowered" this means other strange music hardmode enemies at pre hardmode (but atleast they give demonite/crimtane) and the corruption/crimson is different like the grass is stranger. (Overhaul)

People hate on the calamity mod. But why? I mean yeah the balance issues but it’s called *calamity* for a reason. The sprites are phenomenal, the music is beautiful, and the boss fights and weapons are exiting and really fresh.

Its a good mod but the balance issues aren't small. Imagine playing an RPG where only one or two items are worth using. That's calamity in a nutshell. They do some amazing stuff but being so poorly balanced ultimately ruins your entire experience because terraria is such a loot heavy game to begin with.

Yeah I'm currently playing True Eternity Mode, meaning I have all mods enabled that change how the Souls work. By that I mean, Calamity, Thorium, Shadows of Abaddon (Sacred Tools), and Dragon Ball Terraria. I have Eternity mode enabled but I'm too much of a wuss to enable Revengeance or Death mode, and there's also an item I need to get that's Hardcore exclusive...
