I won't lie. The scene where they were marching while coming home from deployment shed a tear. Only because I was hoping that someone would be there to surprise me that I made it home alive from deployment. I looked around, didn't see anyone, and then went the bleachers checking my phone to see if at least anyone texted me. Was the saddest moment of my life.
Dude, I'm going to 1-up you here. I came back a week early and my wife was nowhere to be found? Got home that night just in time to see her ex boyfriend drop her off...

Price you pay for hooking up with one of the local base rats. I just divorced her and moved on. That being said, I've had buddies from back home who's old ladies bailed one them while they were deployed too, so I guess it's just a luck of the draw wether you get a good woman or not and it don't really matter where you met them.

luckily that cannot happen there is a 1 year waiting time (deros) so unless the soldier waves their deros they will not be deployed and most units usually wait 2 years in between deployments
Wow, I had no idea civilians knew every aspect of serving in the armed forces. Please, tell those who have served for years what its really like and what their motives really are. My god, you people are so smart.
I hate the attitude of Ron Livingston's character, "You'll fight for your country but you won't fight for your son." If men and women hadn't of reenlisted in our all-volunteer armed forces, we would never of had the numbers to fight our wars. I'm not even referring to our wars in Iraq or Afghanistan. Re-enlistments saved our asses in the Revolution and the Civil War.
The point is the have Ron Livingston's character say those stupid things so that we can deal with them as an audience. There are lots of people who feel that way and they don't have to address those prejudices except by watching films like this. There's a whole culture that goes along with serving in the military that most Americans know nothing about so I'm glad to see films such as this that don't show and address the imperfect in these heroes lives.
WellDamn24 Your military is your blood line. The US , maybe, trillion in debt, but its military reign supreme, in land, water and air. It has the genes, skills, techs, leaders, heroes and functioning democratic government. Moreover, a huge land mass that is self-sustaining and continue producing resources. Among the capables: Russia may have the genes, skills and heroes, and can build up techs easily, but their leaders and government over lap with greed and corruption. That consumed them and prevent them from being great. China may have all the material resources but their lack of morals and ultimate unrelenting greed will make them great. Everyone will fear them, yet, not admired and respected. This is another story.
I'm a military spouse and if I"m being honest I often think like that too! I understand men and women enlist for the good of others but it sucks just as bad to feel second to the military, b/c the harsh truth is that you are.
His character has a point though. Being in your child's life is more important than fighting for your country. I love this country but admittedly we have treated our soldiers and veterans like crap. Do you honestly think that the government and the military is going to take care of her and her son once she returns home for good? Of course not. She's going to find herself unemployed and struggling to get by like everyone else who lives paycheck to paycheck and can barely pay the bills, keep a roof over their head, and keep food on the table, etc. In the end, the only thing that matters is family.
Ah. Another war movie from US perspective. I get it, I get it. Soldiers have it tough. Soldiers have to suffer a lot. And so on. Yeah. But. As far as I know they chose their life to be like that. Is there one US soldier who did not voluntairily decided to join their military? And what about the other side. We are all humans.
@@superwallaby6954 Get off your high horse, obviously a typo was made, but the point of who was being discussed was clear. Hence u knew who I was talking about. Not sure what to think about this movie... The name of an installation for a movie sounds corny. I get they want it to be real. One thing for certain, if they shot any of this movie at Bliss, you could shoot your Afghanistan scenes on location too. That's one elevated dusty Army base.
They made a movie which takes place partly on Ft. Bliss? Really??? Well does it also entail how she should be punished under the UCMJ for adultery? I am assuming that Ron Livingston is her husband in this film. This is just my opinion, but i hate anti-war films, if this is considered to be one.

"Why would you do that?!"
This would be funny in a real military situation.

Hopefully an honest reflection of the emotional trials that soldiers and their families go through.

Just kidding. I agree with ya. :)
Sorry about your childhood. I also agree, but at least everyone on youtube is listening to us and that's a start, I hope :)
Not a bad film. Michelle Monaghan is a very underrated actress.
Anyone know the music from this? It's so beautiful and fits in so well!
Try using Shazam mate.
This looks good. I think they are getting this one right. Kind of like the 'Messengers' did a few years back.
Looks pretty good!
Does anyone know what's the soundtrack title of the movie?thanks
Must watch
I'm starting to think that Michelle Monaghan may be the most attractive human being on the face of the planet.
Oh yeah she is 😍
