- We found out Image's daughter and her newborn foal would be at a local auction! We did not want to risk having them end up in the wrong hands, so we went to the sale to see if we could get them. And we did!!! Now its a few weeks later and they are settled in and are feeling at home and relaxed. We get them out to evaluate the mare and see just how well trained she is. We also reveal the foals name!

We are all about raising and training our horses, the Missouri Foxtrotter. Our goal is to bring awareness to this breed and showcase just how wonderful they are! We also raise and train our working border collie dogs. And don’t forget the homesteads sheep, goats and mini cattle!!! We also go to occasional auctions and recently have gotten into regenerative farming/agriculture. We are all about learning how to improve our fields/soil.

You and your daughter remind me so much of me and my dad. When I was young I wanted a horse so much. Unfortunately that was not a option. My dad rescued a horse that was on his way to slaughter. My dad saw something he knew was extraordinary. He was badly injured but we felt we could help him. After many months of care we had a beautiful gaited horse.
I went from a girl without hope to a girl showing my beautiful horse to bringing home blue ribbons.

Jewel is taking the saddle ho-hum. She did connect with Becca, but Jewel is not broke. And I agree that starting her from scratch will be fair to her. Give her a chance to think....understand and accept proper handling so bad habits do not enter the picture.

I'm late mentioning this, but realizing the auction info about Jewel being "broke" to ride was wrong, makes it even more important that the pair ended up with you. Another buyer might have sent them through another sale barn upon realizing she was not trained to be riden.

Magnolia is a beautiful name for that little filly. She is as stunning as a magnolia in full bloom. It is a wonderful thing to watch J R and Becca working with both Jewel and Magnolia in such a soft and gentle way. It reminds me very much if my father who was a true horse whisperer. Any time he got on a horse, it came immediately to attention. All he had to do was just sit in the saddle. It was like they were so proud. I love watching you. It brings tears to my eyes. Keep on doing what you do. It's heartwarming.
These 2 have had such a traumatic start...its all about building trust. They must have wondered what was going on when they were taken to the barn. Hooefully next time theyll be more relaxed, knowing theyre going back to that lovely pasture once their lesson is over. Thanks guys for giving these 2 a home and settling them up for a positive future

Have you tried her without a bit? Maybe she was never ridden with a bit and it's distracting her too much.
That's a "don't get on the horse yet" horse. Safer to do from scratch. Looks like she'll be smart, just doesn't know, and the bracing came from somewhere. You came up with the same thoughts. Liked the foal training. Magnolia is a nice name.
Hackamore? Also, she could just be real distracted cause she's too worried about her baby, possibly. Just guessing without hands on working with her but it sure sounds like she may have a pretty good clue about a saddle & girth strap.😅💜Maybe a long time unworked, so just treat her like she's not broke at all to be safe.

I am so impressed with Becca’s skills, she truly loves horses and they are learning to love her in return. It’s a testament to JR that her skills are such that he feels comfortable turning the horses over to her this early in the game.

I just love your channel so much . I've never owned a horse but have always been fascinated by them and their beauty. We lived in the country when i was a teenager and one of my very first jobs was cleaning out horse stalls with some of my neighborhood friends at a local farmers. Also one of my very best friends in highschool had her very own show horse and to watch the care and practice she put into her horse was simply amazing and so loving. I used to go with her and her family to her shows and it was so much fun watching her compete and bring home plenty of ribbons. I'm now going to be 60 years old this year and so watching your channel sure takes me back to some awesome times as a teenager and i have to say i can truly tell how much ya'll love your horses and I'm so happy i came across your channel. It's so relaxing. One of these days I'm going to have enough money saved up ( I'm on a fixed income ) to donate to ya'lls beautiful family horse farm to maybe even an individual horse like Noah, i believe that's his name, the Clydesdale!
