That's correct, but you forgot to "disaturate" the thsirt layer first before Blurring it, and save it on a seperate document for the layer to be alone.

Looks simplexes but theres some professional techniques being shown here with blend ifs, honestly u cud have made this longer, to explain why u do certain things just my 2cents,id watch this even if u made it 10minutes longer

Not all suitable with multiply. You can choose the other blending option that work for you. Unless you are using the same material as shown in video.
