Harry Amass is the one that you want to see the most for this game since we have had issues at LB for so long. Even if the two senior players are returning it's important to give Amass as much experience as possible. Then we have Antony. Not a player I want to see play instead of Garnacho or Amad, but I do prefer to keep all our options warm and it's a long season so if he get's some minutes here I think that can be great for him. Garnacho on the left and Antony on the right. Hope to see Collyer in the middle with Ugarte. I definitely think Amad needs a rest and has to be wrapped up in cotton and ice, we need him through the season. Zirkzee's ability hold up and to link up to get the ball moving forward in transition takes some of the pressure off of Bruno. Hoijlund is more of in the box striker who needs service to create chances. Once Zirkzee starts firing he is going to be a gem.

Was representing England mens u18s in Euros when FA CUP FINAL was on and recently in France 🇫🇷 for tournament again for England mens u18s. All the International call ups clashed with our fixtures and like you said he's played against Barnsley in EFL
Don't be surprised if he goes with a strong team. Probably rotate the keeper, but not much otherwise. The problem last year was that we never had any consistency in the line up, and the team never learned to play as a team. They've come back from international break and played ONE game... They're never going to get a consistent run of games as a team if we rest them so easily. They need to play together or the complxities of system and technique never settle in. Change only the ones who need resting for injury caution. Then sub on the rotation players at half time. We don't want the situation where we start with an unfamiliar line up, go behind then have to bring on the better players to chase the game in the second half. Do it the other way round. Start strong and give yourself the option to dictate the pace of the second half.

Ugarte with Colleyer and Casemiro as 8s might be imbalanced but that's the best defensively are midfield can get, so even if it lacks creativity, I don't think we would concede with those 3, which is nothing but a winning formula. Still, if we are struggling to create with those 3, bring Eriksen as 10, he thrives in that role with Denmark. Zirkzee should play because he won't be as burdened as the rest of the starters because pretty sure he will get enough rest later when Hojlund is back. Mainoo, Licha, De Ligt, Mazraoui, Amad must strictly not start, they need rest.

True, Barnsley were also playing rotated & youthful side in that game. Doesn’t mean United shouldn’t win comfortably but the EFL Trophy result means nothing in this context. League One teams don’t take that competition seriously until the quarters, hence why no U21 teams have ever progressed passed the QFs.
I would play Rashford on the left to raise his confidence and Anthony on the right because he won't improve physically and mentally if he doesn't play. Amad need to rest too. And Ericksen instead of Bruno.
i don't think Amas is quite ready yet - his defensive positioning was questionable during pre season and i reckon a loan move where he can get 20+ games in would be best before he steps up to mens level for United. i reckon we might see Sam Murray and James Nolan either side of Maguire and Evans. Collyer and Casemiro centre. Antony Garnacho on wing with Fernandes playing behind Wheatley. mix of youth and experience. Barnsley aren't no push overs - and they will be bringing the heat to united especially after watching Southampton keep us on the ropes for 30 min

Be nice if we bang 5 past this lot THEN Erik starts subbing players out.

If Malacia expected to come soon, will not give chance to Amass. ETH is very "insecure" on resting his "favorite" players & trying other youngsters. Biancheri has been scoring few in last couple of matches. He also could be tried. Maybe a academy winger should get few minutes if we are winning comfortably. I would make three changes to your team Steve . I would play Evans in place of De Ligt as i think De Ligt might need a rest . I would play Antony on the LEFT wing . I think he could be very creative on the left if made to play there .And i would play Zirkzee in place of Bruno just to see how he would lay with a number nine in front of him . He seems to link very well with players and does not seem to waste the the ball. United to win six nil with this team .

England u18's had 3 games in September... all 3 of which were in the international window 4th - Portugal, 6th - Switzerland and 8th - France where the 1st team had no fixtures.. so he didn't miss any fixtures because of that

True, Barnsley were also playing rotated & youthful side in that game. Doesn’t mean United shouldn’t win comfortably but the EFL Trophy result means nothing in this context. League One teams don’t take that competition seriously until the quarters, hence why no U21 teams have ever progressed passed the QFs.

i don't think Amas is quite ready yet - his defensive positioning was questionable during pre season and i reckon a loan move where he can get 20+ games in would be best before he steps up to mens level for United. i reckon we might see Sam Murray and James Nolan either side of Maguire and Evans. Collyer and Casemiro centre. Antony Garnacho on wing with Fernandes playing behind Wheatley.
mix of youth and experience. Barnsley aren't no push overs - and they will be bringing the heat to united especially after watching Southampton keep us on the ropes for 30 min
Amass has Kready played against against Barnsley and apart from the 1st preseason match where the whole team was rusty he had a very impressive preseason especially the job on Mo Salah 🙄 that says it all he's also been off the bench because of international duty for England mens u18s in the Euros and another tournament in France 🇫🇷

I definitely don't see Erik starting 2 midfielders who haven't started yet. Erik hardly ever rotates. If Collyer starts, then Casemiro definitely will. I want Mainoo out. I would be tempted to rest Bruno and have a front 4 of Garna, Antony, Zirkzee and Eriksen. I still expect a very strong starting line up regardless. Be nice if we bang 5 past this lot THEN Erik starts subbing players out.

I think Eriksen should play either for Bruno or maybe Ugarte ( bring him off the bench and slowly introduce him). Mazraoui is a bit injury prone so play Dalot. Antony surely has to play. Play Rashford up front because no point playing Wheatley if he isn't good enough for United and is a good opportunity for Rashy to get back 2 back goals and boost his confidence. Just an opinion.

He has been kinda "protecting" Onana & may not give opportunity to Bayindir. If Malacia expected to come soon, will not give chance to Amass. ETH is very "insecure" on resting his "favorite" players & trying other youngsters.
Biancheri has been scoring few in last couple of matches. He also could be tried. Maybe a academy winger should get few minutes if we are winning comfortably.
