Actually, full Haywood name was Haywood Stenton Jones, so Duncan gave his son name of the grandfather and great-grandfather...:)

Wow, that just went straight to my heart! Moon is an amazing movie and this award is well deserved. Can't wait to see what else he has in store.
And I'm so pleased he gave Sam Rockwell some love. Here's hoping he wins a major award soon too!

That was one of, if not the best acceptance speeches i have ever seen, so genuine and honest. I think i fell in love with him at that moment.

I thought that was Trude Styler sitting with him. Prince William gives a rather bored, condescending glance towards Mr. Jones. Duncan himself seems like a very genuine gentleman.

Um, David Bowie was not at all involved with financing any of Duncan's Projects. Trudy Styler was the producer of Moon for instance.

he really did deserve it, he could be one of the all time greats. Source Code was good, Moon was phenomenal and he finally gets a big budget for Wow.
Still wish he didnt turn down Man Of Steel, and would have loved him to do Star Wars instead of Abrams

I loved Moon when I watched it, my cousin bought me the movie. It's a really good movie, not a thing I didn't like to me it was perferct (and I'm cynic). I watched Source Code a while ago, and I loved it too. I love his writing, I love his directing and he deserved that award. :) I swear if he makes another movie writes it and all that I will see that one in theaters!
His award speech made want to cry too. He just seems like a great down to earth guy.

That's all very well but David was the person who showed Duncan how to make films in the first place, therefore he deserves some credit. Of course, with all the other people who helped him with his path, it would have been unnecessary to mention his father. Just saying, though.

Deserving winner... the film's a good 'un. But I agree with the poster below - it's shameful he's been estranged from his own Mother for so long...since he was 14?! Life's too short. But otherwise a seemingly nice guy, good director, great movie.
