Thank you for sharing these tips - very helpful. Are interior designers able to obtain business discount pricing for their clients on materials, trades, furnishings and decor?
Who do you go to when you need someone to design the floorplan. We are building a casita out of a 1000 sq ft storage. The outside walls are concrete with a concrete roof ( we live on Guam where we have a lot of typhoons, so buildings re required to be concrete to withstand the heavy winds). There is nothing else in the building. Who could help me with a floorplan and the infrastructure, like walls, plumbing, electrical, windows, doors, etc?

I hired one and she was just okay. So bummed.
So would the client set a budget on overall furniture/decor and also adding in the $200 an hour? Would you give them an estimate, like these 2 rooms will take me about 5 8 hour days?
Every designer works differently so it’s important to ask those questions to whoever you’re looking to hire so you understand how they’ll be billing and working.
