University of Toronto delivers trespass notice to pro-Palestinian encampment

- Pro-Palestinian protestors who have set up an encampment on the University of Toronto campus have been issued trespassing notices. As Jazan Grewal reports, demonstrators are not planning to leave despite a deadline to clear the occupation.
Ask any one of them “What river and what sea?”
None knows.
They are young and educated and care more for Canadians and wants to stop the funding that goes overseas in weapons.
They are asking for divestment. Funds to be invested in Canadian healthcare, education, homelessness. The list is endless. They did their homework. It's our turn to learn and make sure our hard earned tax dollars stay in Canada.
History has proven students always stood on the right side. Wether it's was the civil rights movement, the rights of indigenous, Vietnam war......

This is disgusting behavior for any students attending any university in Canada. For some reason I truly believed Canadians were by far more educated, more intelligent, more compassionate and had more common sense than other students in any country in the world. I truly believed that. But what I've seen in the past few months from Canadian students is absolute Insanity! i agree with this for anyone that doesn't belong there. If it's not their campus they shouldn't be on the property in the first place. But anyone that is a student there and lives there has a legal right to be on their own property. It would be weird (and clearly not legal) if your landlord could charge you for trespassing because you set up a tent in your back yard.
Issue deportation notices. Go help where the problem is actually happening. Its easy to protest from the comfort of a democratic country with a full belly and no real consequences.

Several protests have led to some universities getting rid of their investments in weapons contractors linked to Israel. So some have changed things. Moreover, their broader goal is to bring attention to a genocide (or a plausible genocide if you need to wait for an official legal determination) that is occurring now by drawing public attention to the matter, in which case they also seem to be succeeding. That's the point of doing it.

Force will be used if they don’t. The cops will have the legal responsibility to proceed. These people have been given sufficient warning to take down their tents. Any court cases will side with police given the people encamped were given fair warming and ample time to comply with the stated objective deadline.

State of Georgia recently tries to pass a bill to send ALL protesters to fight in Gaza.
Trespass notices have been issued and posted, therefore, 1) at 8:00am on Monday the police need to roll in with chartered buses and arrest any protestors remaining in the encampment and throw them in jail for 30 days with out bail pending a hearing. 2) the University needs to cancel all foreign student visas and tuitions for those participating in the protests and have them deported back to the country of origin. 3) the University needs to cancel all tuitions for Canadian students involved in the protests, and 4) the University needs to fire all professors, staff, etc that are participating in the protests. Law abiding Canadian's are tired of these pro-Hamas demonstrations.

What I would do as U of T Administrator. 1) If you are a non-student, arrest and charge with trespassing, ban from U of T property for life 2) as a student, refund their tuition, cancel their student membership, ban from U of T property for life. 3) if you are a foreign student, refund their tuition, revoke their student membership, ban from U of T property for life, work with government to have their student visa revoked.
Why even refund their tuition for that semester? Show them the consequences of their actions instead.

this is a ridiculous statement, they are camping in the middle of an open field not blocking the free flow of commerce and/or people's homes and most of those people are students who have the legal right to be on what is ostensibly their own property because they paid student fees for those rights. However, I do agree that anyone that isn't a student or worker on the campus should be arrested and charged with trespassing
