    hey man, love your work
i got a slab of kauri obtained legitimately that is my dearest possession
its home is leaning against the wall where i can see it all of the time
i gave up counting growth rings at over 1000 and when you look at the shape of it, the tree must have been insanely huge.
i worked in the timber industry for 26 years for a top tier company in all sorts of roles so i know special, lol. got the slab from a life long mate who also works for another top tier company. funny how life works sometimes
i think you are the one to elevate this
i took it to work to get sanded on a big as you can get sanding machine and it made it shudder and spark, so it is quite... hard
could be worthy of content for this channel..,.

How "finished" does ancient kauri have to be to be eligible for export?

It has to be a finished piece of furniture like a large table. If you want I have slabs up to 6 mtrs long by 1000mm wide and 100mm thick. We can skim the top seal and you could export it as a finished table top that could be turned into something else.
