Being a stay at home mom is SO hard. I had no idea it would be this hard. I feel like I should be more thankful that it's even an option for me, so I feel guilty for saying that... but it's difficult, and that's the truth. It's so easy to get stuck in ground hog day with all the little things that need to be done at home and we forget who we are and what else is out there. Easy for me to say to you to just take the time for you and utilize the help and assistance of family and friends... ASK for help, but I need to learn to take my own advice too. But mom to mom, your doing a great job!!!! And as a subscriber I want to say thank you for sharing, it helps me not to feel so alone in it all, bc these are real feelings that I 'think' alot of moms feel but just don't share. I appreciate the realness. Your awesome!! 😘

Megan Campbell Aww thank you so much!! I NEVER ask for help or even accept help really. I don’t know why I find it stressful to think of really 😬 But we all need a break! Even for just a couple hours here & there!! Thank you ❤️❤️

girl i totally get what you mean when you said it’s a different sort of peace when your kid is at home with their other parent- and not “burdening” another adult. it’s a different peace. i get it. it’s always hard to explain to others but you said exactly what i’ve tried to explain to others lol.

I felt the same way on Saturday this past weekend...and i couldn't even pinpoint the exact reason, i think just from feeling exhausted/drained/overwhelmed/always taking care of others and just wanting a moment to focus on myself or have someone else take care of me. I love your channel and you're doing amazing! Btw I'm not a single mom even so I can't imagine how you do it all yourself!

You don’t have to justify needing a break. Everyone needs a break. Being a stay at home mom is a JOB. Normal 9-5 jobs, you have breaks. It’s okay. It took me a while to understand that. Your friend wouldn’t offer to watch Sydney if she didn’t want to or thought she couldn’t handle her. Sydney is a great kid!

Thank you, seriously thank you. I have been having these moments lately and feeling guilty for it. I think as a single mom I don’t stop to think about how doing it all affects me. So lately I’ve had moments when my LO happens to nap that I’ll be working and start to cry, with no reason why. I am so happy, yet sporadically crying lately. I think the weight of it all is hitting me lately and I try to push it down. Because I am so grateful for my daughter. But with the tantrum stage lol and life, it’s heavy. Thank you for helping me to feel normal and not alone. You are killing it! Loved this Vlog! Momtober has been amazing xx

I don't have any "outside" help right now, and I can't even depend on my parents to help out (they are older and can't really help). My husband is literally my only break that I get. I get such a kick out of it when Sydney gives you a running commentary on what she's doing, like with putting the stickers on the pumpkin. 55F is a pretty standard autumn temperature, even down here. Not too warm, not too cold. Nowhere near a frost. We all have actual winter temps to look forward to yet. Tell Sydney she is helping give warm winter cover for underground creatures, like rabbits in warrens, putting leaves and twigs into that stand of trees by your yard. And in the spring small animals and birds will use those to build nests for their babies. My grandfather used to say, "You have to eat a peck of dirt before you die." The little bit on the cheese won't hurt her. Sweet how she helped you clean up the yard. Emptying the water out of the jack o'lantern may help it to last longer before rotting. She was quite the trouper at the salon and she did some people-watching. How's the plastic covering on the window holding up in the wind? I think you are saying that you do not have another adult there as a sounding board to commiserate, to help, to get an opinion on something. It is largely all going on inside your head as a monologue and we are gregarious animals, so it helps to have other available adults close by off whom you can bounce things. It not only takes a village to rear a child, it takes a village for an adult to safely navigate the shoals of whatever their responsibilities are. Plus you get little adult conversation about things you need to discuss as a grown woman: recreation, politics, sex, budgeting, any adult topic. Sometimes all any of us needs when we say that we are disgusted with waiting for our hair to grow to the length we want it, is for the other grown-up to say how they get it because their hair grows so fast and so thick that they wish they could switch with you because they, too, are constantly frustrated with their look compared to what they want. They'll tell you they have to go monthly to get it cut and thinned and then you both laugh at how life really is, yet have supported one another in it. So glad her father showed up for her, though unannounced, and that you could get away for a bit of alone time to regroup a bit. His visit is allowing you to get work done and to get a bit of alone time, but he is not a coparent really and not a companionable friend, from what little I can tell. You do it alone and he shows up when the mood takes him. Which for your child is better than nothing and one day she will see for herself how it is with no one saying a word. He is being a baby daddy, but not really a coparent. Why, oh why, do male type persons never understand, unless they're gay, that chick flicks are great for allowing us to have a really good monsoon rains cry? You did some chores, so go walk on a wooded trail or sit on a swing in a park or playground. Do you report your estimated taxes on a quarterly basis? So use that as your reminder to get a babysitter for a half day and get out of the house for Hayley time. Quiet time. Restorative time. I don't quite do what you mentioned. But, if I see a great blouse and get it and it turns out to be everything a blouse should ever be and I just knew it would be, but got only one - I want to kick myself to kingdom come for not having bought one in every available color because there is not going to be another whatever it was that was that great. And I never find them again somewhere.

It gives me hope that in the future I will be ok. It is the hardest thing I’ve had to ever do is be a single mom and I’m only 19 so it’s been an adjustment to say the least. You’re such a great mom and no one doubts how much you love your babe but that doesn’t change the fact that everyone needs a break and time to themselves! Just know that you are a great mom and you have the right to cry, break down - even if you are happy! I find that I can’t process my emotions and get over them if I don’t let myself feel them. I am a single mom doing it all by myself too and you are absolutely right, it is so so hard, not only to always be there and do it all, but also making decisions by yourself, finding the best way, making the best life! It’s so hard physically and emotionally! And let me tell you, you are doing amazing and it takes a strong person to do all this! It’s funny how they say „it takes a village to raise a child“....and here we are, all by ourselves doing it all alone. You are truly a wonderful mom and Sydney is benefitting so much from having such a strong mom, who is always there for her. And absolutely take time to yourself, get a babysitter once in a While, it really does make such a difference. You are a human and you need you-time also!! Much respect and love to you❤️

When someone came to my chair and had issues with growth and breakage, the answer was always take a break from heat tools(I know, it can be hard!) and take a break from bleach. Over processed hair easily breaks and becomes extremely porous! I would go back to your natural color for a little bit before bleaching again, do Conditioning treatments a few times a week(olaplex and Kerastase make great treatments) and if you absolutely must use a straightener, do so maybe once a week with a good heat protectant sprayed on beforehand. Bumble and bumble makes a great no blow styling cream as well as a thermal protection product. Up your water intake and invest in collagen supplements, vital proteins makes a great one you can mix with any liquid and it has no taste! ❤️

I can't believe how good Sydney is to be able to take to your hair appointment. My son is two and he would be trying to wash his hair in the sink🤦 for that reason I just put him in preschool three days a week and it's been a game changer. It's help with the mom guilt because I can run all my errands and do my cleaning while he's at school and 100% focus on him when he gets home.

I know how hard it is to be so open and honest and get on camera and have a good cry. I am a stay at home mom too, and so thankful to have a supportive husband, but he does work 7am to usually 9pm Monday to Saturday. So I cant say I'm a "single" mom but it does feel like it sometimes when I'm the one that does it all, and maintains the house, and then still have to be a "wife" at the end of the day too. Its exhausting and us other moms out there can all totally relate in our own way! I am so used to having my little guy with me, and having a break from him makes me feel awful. I hate leaving him and always feel like I'm "pawning" him off on someone else to go do something for me, or just clean and get laundry done and feel guilty doing it! Its terrifying to be away from our normal mom life and afterwards I always say- I should really do this more. And then next time I go thru all the same anxiety!
Your not alone girl, none of you mamas are! Hope you got to enjoy time alone and have some sence of relief! Xoxo

Oh, I totally get you with the bottling up and you always feel like you have to have a brave face for your little one, especially when it is just you. I only realised how constantly I am on edge/anxious when I was once at the petrol station (without my son) and I saw a parent leave their little one in the car to pay for petrol (something I also do all the time) and watched them fervently looking back at the car (probably more worried about what state their little one will be when they get back to the car). I saw so much of myself in that person and realised how relaxed I was pumping petrol, knowing my little one wasn't in the car. I know it is a weird story, but it is the best example I could think of to demonstrate how I realised how 'on' I always am being a single Mum :-)
BTW HAVE A GOOD CRY - You don't need a reason!!!! The chronic overwhelm is enough (plus there are proven scientific studies that prove that having a good cry every now and then his beneficial to your health, releases tension etc) Take care sweetie xoxo
PS You don't have to be sad to cry, since becoming a Mum, your emotions are all over the place, I am always crying at happy, sad and random stuff, it's ridiculous, that love you feel for your little one spills over and gets spread all over the place, I feel!

I know they say trim / cut your hair for it to grow and in my case I just let it go without cutting. Every time I would cut it you’re just cutting off new growth. I curl and style my hair daily and just started using a heat protectant spray. Also washing or conditioning every other day helps by massaging the scalp helping the follicles grow, at least for my hair. I also use Suave Professionals Avocado and olive oil conditioner and I get told I have the prettiest hair. Find what works for you! 😍 and you’re beautiful with or without makeup!

Awesome video, as always, Hayley ❤ I know I've sorta dissapeared in the comments, but I still watch your videos as much as I can. I have so much on my mind right now, financial problems (my employer went bankrupt and he owes me 2 months of salaries), I had to rush my boy in the ER 3x in 5 days (one day we stayed in the hospital) and once more 2 weeks prior that, so it's been pretty stressful, really... but enough about me. You look fabuolus ❤ A tip for faster hair growth - cut your hair up to 48 hours prior to full moon (to keep short hair is the opposite, up to 48 hours before waning cresendent). It really works. I went from long hair to short hair and did it in the right moon phase and I'm thrilled - my hair has never grown so slow before 😁 usually my hair grows just a little under 1"/month and now it's almost a month since my haircut and it grew less than 0.5" (unlike like once I've had bangs made just before full moon and just 3 days after my hair was 0.5" longer). I know my hair grows really fast, but everyone I've recommended this to seem to notice results. Hope this helps you, too 😊

Try the coil hair elastics! They are wonderful for putting hair up. They don’t leave a giant ponytail bump like a regular hair elastic. Worth a try 👍🏼

As a single mom who deaf and working full time over 3 days ( I max out my hours as cannot afford childcare for more days ) single mom hood is so hard some days !!!
I don’t have any family about bar one uncle is all and when I do see him I’m so thankful ! It may only be every 3 months but I count my blessings ! Never feel bad for how hard it is ! It has good times and bad times and days that wish had someone ask for more help but not all of us are blessed with that extra family or even friends !
I always make times for myself in the mornings before my son wakes up to go to school or when I’m off and do school run I then have those couple of hours to myself ! So vital because I can’t ask many people for help and already paying out for help so can work and can’t pay for help just sit have a break ( one day when I’m more wealthy I may do this ! Hehe ). I’m lucky to have 4/5 close friends but they all live their own lives in different parts of the world but I use their help by calling them for advice or tops and tricks :)
Just use what you have to make it work YOUR way .
It’s never easy! But as time goes on it does get some what a little easier :) have a blessed day

Can I just say to all,of you - do not apologize for crying, for feeling overwhelmed, for needing to have a few moments of alone time. Sometimes I feel like all of you who identify as SAHMs feel you need to justify needing to be alone for a little bit. Please remember moms that work, go off to,work and are in the land of adults for a portion of the day, as well as traveling to/from work having a bit of time to deco, press on your trip. When you are home all day, especially when the bulk of care for your little ones is yours alone, you become emotionally depleted. A very old woman told me once that if mother does not take care of mother, who, will take care,of everyone else? So instead of feeling like you are being selfish because you need to have an hour away from everyone remember you are taking care of you just as you do everyone else. It is okay to be first sometimes.

When you got in your car and the carseat was empty, it was so odd to see! I thought for sure you had just already gotten Sydney out and put her into a shopping cart while you emptied the backseat. It was strange to see you by yourself - that just goes to show you how you really *are* never alone! You deserve that time away, by yourself, to decompress and it was so nice to see you enjoying it. I hope you can get to do that more often! :)

In regards to your hair, ask your stylist or find a salon that offers Olaplex treatments. That should help alot especially since you lighten your hair. Also, It's a 10 leave in conditioner spray is great, i use it after I wash my hair and let my hair air dry. I will use my curling iron or flat iron still to style, but use a heat protectant. Hope that helps 😄

Also advice for your hair. Get half a inch cut from split ends every month. Also use that “it’s a 10” leave in spray after a shower on towel dry hair as well as 100% Argan oil as well as the pink ION shampoo from Sally’s. *knock on wood* my hair gets sooo many compliments from how fast it grows and how thick it is just because I use these products and get my split ends cut regularly 😊
