❤🎉. Origin lore is always a good topic. Throwing in some plot hook examples for a campaign to show newer DMs how to use that lore is always good also.

Yeah! Lore is awesome because you learn so much. I'm doing unicorns next because I had no idea they weren't originally horses!

In my world, the Goddess of the ocean is named Merina. When I come up with names, I like them to have meaning. So her name is a mix between names that mean Ocean or Water, and Queen or Goddess. She is not married or has a partner, and she does not want children of her own. Instead she created her own underwater Atlantis. If a woman was killed at sea, weather by drowning or by a mans hand (she hates men, for reasons I wont explain here because there is a lot of lore for my world) she will give that woman a second chance by offering to change her so she can live underwater with her. If they accept, they can become one of 2 things, either they become MERina's MAIDens (mermaids!) or they choose to take revenge on those that wronged them and become sirens.
