Love,Love,Love those tiny little houses! When the beading goes in that piece it will just POP. A lesson I learned years ago in an EGA class for beading is once all your stitching is done iron on interfacing to the back of your piece, it gives the beads a sturdier base and they sit better. Can't wait to see it finished
I had to rewatch the episode today because I love the plaid so much!!! After you release a pattern and I learn from your technique I really want to simply stitch a few plaid bookmarks for myself.
I will definitely be making some plaid sheepies
I LOVE the plaid pear! Soooo cool! Plus, ladies, your MFEs are just gorgeous!
Thank you ☺️ thank you
One more note, regarding Chatelaines. I bought my first Chatelaine probably 35 years ago or so when Martina ( the designer) was still alive and teaching classes on the computer cuz we didn’t have Zoom then. I did find her paper instructions confusing at first. She was a great teacher and made it much less confusing. We only got one section at a time to do. All these years later, I am 71 now, I still had 2 Chatelaines kitted and my confusion came back until I really dug into them. They’re always so beautiful and the challenges are worth it. Enjoy yours. You will love the finished artwork that you’re creating!
I’m here for my rewatch lol. You all are my favorite Flosstube channel. I hope Aimee feels better soon. Caroline inspired me to order Martha Walmsley with the 100.3s. I’m so excited to have my “fancy moment” lol. I really enjoy hearing Elizabeth talk about stitching techniques and strategies. It’s something I think about a lot and I thought I was the only one lol. MORE of that. 😂 I feel so seen. Love you all! ❤
Hahaha… I thought -I- was the only one!
@ I thought I was the only one until I started watching you all! ❤️ I love the nerdy technical stitching talk.🤓😂 And your plaid pear is amazing! 🥲🍐
Woohoo!!! The plaid pear is AMAZING!!! 🤩 🎉❤I hope you’ll let us buy your patterns when you get all three pieces of fruit stitched/charted! Would love to do them!❤❤❤
Thank you! I think Caroline will insist…
Rock stars….the both of you. Caroline, your stitching journey is so inspiring. Love how you made lemon drop martinis out of lemons with skatum. Happy stitching. Xoxo
Lemon drop martinis… she would. :D
Yessss! Stitch Phoenix Sampler with me!
So good. Elizabeth you are just so clever. Caroline, can we be friends? 😂😂😂
Aaaw, thank you!
Not sure if it’s been said, but Elizabeth is giving Sailor Saturn in her jacket
Caroline will love this.
Elizabeth! Your plaid pear is so...friggin...cool! Yes, please somehow make your design available. Caroline, love your determination to finish the MFE 4 seasons. I've found that having your nose to the grindstone may take a bit of the fun factor out of stitching a big project, but there's SUCH a rewarding feeling when it's done. Love you guys!
Thank you so much! Watching Caroline stitch is so inspiring. 😍
That plaid pear!!!
Thank you!
Love all your projects. The 100 circle black work is one of my favorites. My first finish for 2025 was 324 by Works by ABC. It is also a rainbow of colors but uses 324 DMC colors.
That sounds so cool but also very intense!
Ohhh! I need a plaid fruit pattern!!! 😍 You NEED to release this, PLEASE!! 🥹
I agree!!
Love love love your plaid pear! So clever!
Thank you!
Love your floss tube!! You guys are so funny. I can’t believe I haven’t run into you at Thread needle street! Your stitching is so inspiring!
Thank you so much!
If you’ve missed us at thread needle, look down. Caroline lays on the floor and I sit under the magazine rack. :p
Hello stitchers. It is so kind of you to share your stitching with the world 😮. Thank you 😊. I did notice you mentioned the difficulty with floss getting curly off floss drops. I’ve suffered this same problem and discovered that if the hitch knot (or larks head knot to macrame artists) is loosened so you can place your finger tip into the space, the thread will be pulled across your finger and not the card. Pulling the floss across the card is like curling ribbon 🎀 with a pair of scissors ✂️. That then leads to a lot of knotting while stitching. Hope this helps. Keep up the beautiful work.
Thank you so much! This is great advice. :)
Love your video as always. The plaid pear is amazing! I’ve always used scroll frames if you have any questions. I have a lot of different sizes and styles and two different floor frames. I would never stitch with anything else. I am completely stalled on my Chatelaine and have been for a long time. I’m enjoying seeing your progress. I did not start with a small one.
What did you start with?!
Plaid pear is fabulous, Elizabeth!!! Congratulations! Caroline, such progress you have made in your stitching skills, a joy to watch. Take care. ❤❤❤
Thank you! I respect you so much, it tickles me to read this.
Glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t like weeks! This year I am not buying anymore and will use up what I have in stash but that’ll be it for weeks haha. Love watching you ladies! 💞
Calling it. I’m done fighting too
Cool stuff! I may have to acquire some of those charts....starting with a couple HATS
Great to see you and your awesome projects again. I loved The Women! I am listening to Rebecca by Daphne DuMaurier. I highly recommend it if you like historical novels. I am reading Storyteller by Jodi Picoult an excellent book taking place during the German Nazi conflict times.
Thanks for the recommendations!
Ohh these are good recs
it would be SO cute if you did the Annie girl and then appliqued her onto striped fabric. Also, SO Caroline when she GUSHED over how amazing a pattern is and then says "yeah, I'm not doing ANY of that!" hahahahha!!!
I love that she’s willing to edit!
I laughed so hard, when you blithely said "It'll be in the notes." and then "Oh no! Aimee is in charge of the notes"
I knew you'd figure it out 🤣
Love your stitching and your overflowing creativity 😍
Also, sharp shoulders and Chanel plaid jacket - the 80s are calling.... 🤣
Absolutely 80’s charts are definitely calling, it is time
OMG You ladies just MADE MY DAY!! Excellent video - thank you for being REAL! 🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You’re welcome! Messy people can make beautiful, perfect things. 💚
That’s right 🫡
Great video! The Front Loop Start with One Thread has been a game-changer! Thanks for sharing!!
It’s so good!!!
Amazing update on the MFE! Loved how the two of you supported each other through the year. I just started Baldaquin Birdies and may need a support group.
I hope you find one! Caroline definitely pushed me through summer.
I love the Sulky threads. I bought two big sets of them off of Amazon four years ago and I still am using them. I love them. Great video ladies and I hope Amy feels better soon.!
They are beautiful and they don’t tangle, such a good find!
More greatness, thanks for another fun episode.
So pleased you might might stitch the Queens! Any questions just ask! I do intend to chart all of Henry’s wives. I just finished charting Queen Charlotte!
And there will be a companion piece to Gwyneth’s Bouquet with a big honking rose coming this year.
Love you all my darling feral nieces!
A ROSE! I can’t breath
Oh wow, Elizabeth! Your plaid pear is amazing! I'm loving your plaid stitch technique and can't wait to try it out! I've recently purchased a Chatelaine pattern and am looking forward to it arriving and trying it out. Love Carolyn's new pattern stash and the new sulky discovery. You ladies are so talented! Happy stitching!
Thank you!
I hope you enjoy your chatelaine as much as I’m enjoying mine!
HI from snow Ontario Canada!! Love watching your videos, keep em coming! Enjoy your day!
Thank you!
Soooo much inspiration!! I so want that Maximum stitch that Caroline showed. Oh my! So beautiful! 🌹
Elizabeth’s season motif is gorg!
I Miss Aimee, I hope she feels better!
We hope she feels better soon too! Thank you for all your kind words. 💚
❤
💚
Wow the plaid pear is EVERYTHING! You have to release that so we all can learn and stitch it :). Great episode with so many good projects ❤
I agree, we have to release it! We all just want to play in E’s brain
It is full of things like “this is a recipe for a key lime pie without key limes also it is a cake.”
@ I cannot wait ha.
Love it all as always!
Thank you!
Dying over the plaid! It sounds like Denise's "hmm" is the Paul Hollywood handshake of cross-stitch!
Totally. Never assume, just enjoy it when it happens
Oh what fun! You have been unsupervised again!! Love it :)
I can’t believe anyone leaves Caroline and me in charge of anything. :p
Elizabeth I’m obsessed with your nails and blazer. Gorgeous!
Thank you! It’s a whole dress… with a cape back!
Thank you for answering my question about stitching your plaid technique on Aida! I will be so excited to purchase your pattern whenever you decide to release it ♥️
I will too!
Another great Flosstube ladies. The three of you are so talented. That pear is outstanding. Pls tell Amy that I hope she gets well quickly.
You got it!
Some many beautiful pieces ladies thank you for sharing. I brought The Gift of Stitching bundle and I have saved Lavender Garden from Martina Weber from Chantelaine from Issue number 9. I love the Outlander Chantelaine.
Ohhh that is a good one!
Those four seasons pieces are something else!! How exciting to both be so close to a finish 😍 you’re also inspiring me to stitch a pattern with a pear in it.. time to find one that I like 💸
Pears are so in right now. :p
Elizabeth! Your plaid pear is perfection!
Thank you!! 🍐 💚
If it doesn't show through on the front of the piece, she shouldn't clean up and tuck in the threads. It shows her journey and improvement. The real accomplishments she has made
Permission to be a mess, I will take it haha thank you
Great flosstube as always! Lots to comment on but really I'm just mind blown by the plaid pear. There was a Scottish sampler I saw recently that had a row of traditional plaid "swatches" at the bottom that would be so amazing with that technique. Caroline is right, you need to become famous, Elizabeth!
Thank you! I’d love a link to that pattern, if you get a chance. Figuring out how to re-chart it would be really fun!
She’s a star. A absolute brilliant star
@@Threadgremlins I agree 💖💖💖💖💖
🧡🧡
💚💚
I just bought this Mini Mystery #3 to practice for the big one I bought to challenge myself. Thank you for the advice/warning!
I hope you love it as much as I do!
I enjoyed watching you ladies today! I was nodding my head profusely up and down when you were talking about Threadneedle Street. Everything else just melts away when you step foot in there. I’ve yet to step foot in any other LNS and I can only imagine! Can’t wait to make the trip to Acorns, hopefully sooner than later!
You’ll love it! It’s not as cozy, but the selection is to die for.
Great video ladies! All your projects are looking amazing and the progress is phenomenal.
Thank you so much!
My favorite flosstube! I just binged all of your episodes in the last few weeks and now I’m working on Got the Morbs and kitted up Regina Haible with 100.3s for my b-day! (I also aspire to achieve fancy/cool girl status 😂) So lovely to see other moms with young kids stitching. ❤
Cool girl alert!!🚨
Love you gals.....keep up the great work
Thank you! 💚
Don't Doom Scroll Cross Stitch! Now we need merch y'all or maybe a pattern :)
Love all the projects but Caroline that progress on SKAUTMN, that was shocking, now I know why you wait and don't do spoilers b/c Elizabeth was like floored lol
The Chatelaine is just so intense and amazing, and I will just echo what everyone else is saying about the pear but WOW
Honestly a project bag that said “don’t doom scroll, cross stitch” is totally something I wish I had the skills to make. Good idea!
Ahaha don’t send me on a side quest to learn how to design doom scroll x stitch merch I have things I’m suppose to get done today…but I neeeddd it
Great video! Caroline - you’ve convinced me to try Sulky threads. Have a stash from Amazon that need to be used and not just looked at! No words to describe the pear! xx
What a lovely thing to read! Thank you. 💚
🍐, that’s all we need to say, we all know
Elizabeth: when Caroline held up that one pattern I did a double take saying “hey is that a Jane Austen pattern?” And immediately after I said that to myself, you made your remarks about Pemberley 😂😂😂
Obviously the dream. I want to live in her pattern.
YAY MORE THREAD GREMLINSSS!!!!!❤❤❤
Love you. 💚
Thank you for the great episode! You will love the Reflets de Soie, I did the same and the silks were such a pleasure to work with! ❣️
I can’t wait! It’s beautiful
I don’t know if anyone else mentioned that you can usually find Sulky thread at quilt stores.
Good to know!
I am new to cross stitching. You sweet ladies mentioned market. Is that for cross stitch vendors only or is there a market for customers?
We can buy from stores but not directly from market
💜💜💜
💚💚💚
I’d love to see the plaid used to on something like a fancy lady or gentleman’s clothes!
Were you using full crosses on your silk?! Which thread did you use that was tiny enough for it? I’ve been using a single strand of dmc half stitch on 40 count silk gauze and am loving it!
I’m curious to try sulky one of these days and see how I feel about single thread for regular cross stitch.
The plaid would so great on a garment!
I did full crosses in Gloriana. :)
@ One of these days I need to try silks! Sewing silk on silk just makes so much sense.
Absolutely 💯
In what shop would one find the magical Denise of whom you speak, please?
Threadneedle street in issaquah!
Can you stitch plaid on Aida?
I’d wait for E to chime in but, yes! Absolutely it’s just regular cross stitch
Heck yes you can! If you can stitch stripes, you can stitch plaid.
Is anyone familiar with the art of Kurtis Rykovich? He has a series called “Wicked Damsels”. It’s exquisite. I’ve only seen his artwork used as a hobby in diamond painting. If anyone knows where I can find these patterns for cross stitch I would be very grateful ☺️
I have no idea. Good luck! 🍀
Also, that plaid pear is the sh%t!!!💪💪💪💪
Thank you! I admire your work so much, it’s really exciting to read this. :)
@@Elizabeth-pj5if oh go on, you. I’m a frowsy old tart. Love you guys!!
I mean…. I think Iris Apfel is hopefully my Final Form, but I wouldn’t mind being a frowsy old tart along the way. :p
I was refereed to this recently by another flosstuber. It speaks about several, schools that taught needlework skills. Thought you might enjoy given your discussion of historical samplers by young stitchers
ruclips.net/video/cN6jBfHxGD0/видео.htmlfeature=shared
Thank you!
I haven’t started any new projects since filing my WIP parade because it definitely made me feel guilty 🫠 even tho I love the projects it was just A LOT to see all at one time.
I get it. It’s so much! Too much.
❤❤❤❤
