The Jews are not in the land because of any god, we are in the land because in 1948 the international community recognized that the Jewish people had a long and ancient history in the land and for that reason it was suitable for a Jewish homeland, alongside an arab homeland. Of course, the Jews agreed to the partition plan but the arabs refused and attacked the Jews with the openly stated aim of "exterminating" them (direct quote by a few arab leaders btw) - Jews fought back and won, arabs lost, and have been whining about it ever since.
