For projection the Maestro series has a waffle design which works well, the Maestro Airtight also hold the pad leather tight, which allow for more consistent pad installation. If your Martin has a particular finish, brass lacquered, or Silver plated, you could get a corresponding reso to match the finish, but this is just for aesthetics and will not affect the projection. Many just prefer the gold plated Maestros because they hold up well.
