My top 5 favorite Christmas Movies are 1 How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) 2 Elf 3 Home Alone 5 The Holiday Heist 4 Jingle All The Way 5 The Santa Clause with Tim Allen
It’s a wonderful life is about benevolence, goodwill and it embodies the spirit of Christmas and there is an angel of course so it fits the bill it was also released on Dec 20th 1946. I think it’s set on Christmas Eve.
I love the OG Black Christmas as well. I actually watch Trading Places every New Year's Eve. Speaking of, just a suggestion for a video: maybe a collection of New Year's (Eve) movies. I don't know if there's a lot out there. The only other New Year's/non-New Year's related movies I've seen are the remake of Assault on Precinct 13, remake Ocean's Eleven, and cheesy slasher Bloody New Year. I googled them and there's actually more. I'm not sure if you have any of them in your collection.
@MoviesSue Oooh! I'm looking forward to that! 😁 Edit: Bloody New Year is more of a horror-comedy with a sci-fi twist. I was thinking of some other movie 😅
Yes Silent Night is the remake. I have some Christmas horror movies and a few non-horror. I have the Home Alones and Die Hard. Have you heard of Rare Export it's a Christmas horror movie I think from Finland. Wow you have an outstandingly awesome collection sis. Good showing and cool video Sue!👍
I actually agree that "It's a Wonderful Life" isn't really a Christmas movie either. I think it's a great excuse to watch it once a year, but Christmas has very little to do with the holiday (even less so than Die Hard). I didn't realize there was sub-genre of horror Christmas movies. I did stream "Jack Frost" after watching this video and...ho boy, that was bad. I mean, it was clearly meant to be funny, but boy is it hokey. "Christmas in Connecticut" seems to be getting less underrated every year, as more and more people seem to be discovering it. Two omissions: When the buying freeze ends I would consider adding "Joyeux Noël" to that collection (one of the most emotional Christmas movies ever) and considering you are a huge Christmas Carol fan, I'm a bit surprised to not see "The Muppet Christmas Carol" in that collection.
Have you ever seen A Christmas Carol with Patrick Stewart? It was a TV movie that I saw on TNT a long time ago... really good... pretty close to the book
The ONLY ones I mentioned, that I didn't see on your list was *The Ultimate Gift* , *1998 Jack Frost* , with Michael Keaton, *the Frozen Collection*, Edward Scissor hands* , and *The Polar Express*, I know A LOT of people will say SOME of these don't count and thats fine :); I don't buy absolutely everything, only the things that resonate with me, but there were a few you mentioned, that I am going to pick up, maybe two or three; These are the Christmas Movies I have, I have Die Hard as well, I also have the Halloween transitional movie Nightmare Before Christmas as well, I also have ALL of Batman, so I do have Batman Returns as well, *Christmas Vacation*, *Santa Clause 1-3* , with Tim Allen, *Jingle All The Way*, with Arnold Schwarzenegger , *Elf*, with Will Ferrel, *Grinch* with Jim Carrey, I have all of the Grinch movies, *A Christmas Story* , *Home Alone 1 and 2*, the *Maricle On 34th Street* I have both of them, but I've never seen the original, I saw the remake in theaters though; I also have those old rudolph movies/collection as well, *Fred Clause*, *Deck The Halls* ,with Danny Devito, *The Polar Express* , the Frozen collection COULD MAYBE be considered as Christmas movies, but if we're going with the Die Hard logic, I guess you could even throw in *The Ultimate Gift* , I don't remember if they all have Christmas scenes in them, but i know the first one does, I also have *Gremlins*, I also have *1998 Jack Frost* , with Michael Keaton, also *Edwards Scissors Hands* as well.
@MoviesSue Olaf's Frozen Adventure , is Christmas related, its more of a short though/I think its only like 30mins or so in length. There is a good bit of Christmas, in Edwards Scissors Hands, I kind of put in the category of Nightmare Before Christmas and Gremlins though, its a transitional movie, from Halloween to christmas, I also put Planes Trains And Automobiles in this category as well, its a thanksgiving movie, but its a transitional movie, in the sense of, after this movie, more accepted Christmas movies start to come into play, the closer to christmas I get. I know everyone isn't going to accept my methodology on this and thats okay.
I'm a big fan of A Christmas Carol too. A few weeks ago I watched the Patrick Stewart version for the first time and enjoyed it a lot. The Albert Finney one is my personal favorite. But a lot of good ones though
The reason why It's a Wonderful Life is considered a Christmas movie is because TV stations started broadcasting it every Christmas in the 80's to supplement the usual favorites of the season. And it just stuck
There is one movie that I have no idea if it is on blu-ray or not. It is the Laurel & Hardy version of "March of the Wooden Soldiers" (1934), which should be considered a Christmas movie because it does feature Santa Clause. I have it on DVD. If it is not yet on blu, then I hope that the powers that be, will do a just restoration and eventually release it on blu and even 4K.
I actually watched Scrooged and The Family Stone from one of your previous vids as I'm trying to watch more christmas movies, not just the classics I LOVE. I didn't like either of them, but they were worth experiencing.

“David Harbour can be my Santa Claus any day of the week.” 🤣
Lol I can't help myself.
You should really check out the Alister Sim Christmas Carol this year. An all time classic.
It is one of the best versions of The Christmas Carol story.
I loved Better Watch Out, it's one of my favorites
I love the OG Black Christmas as well.

It's already written in my calendar!

Sounds amazing Susan
I also love A Christmas Story, Bad Santa, Home Alone and Violent Night; still patiently waiting for the sequel.
Awesome Christmas movie collection Sue.
Nice Christmas movie collection
Thanks!
Tim Allen is my Santa Clause

Are the Frozen movies at Christmas? If not, they don't count. Edward Scissorhands is a non Christmas movie.

You forgot about the muppets Christmas carol
I don't own that movie.

Bad Santa was John Ritter final film

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy them, but at least you tried!
