Malaysian here, Jeff's so outstanding and brave to make the adjustments. The audience and most citizens are grateful you bring out the character regardless of what a boring government said. Our government basically tried to close off so many things that made everything else more boring with traditional mindset on a daily basis without looking into context.

When he went on this tour Dunham was afraid of how Achmed would be received in the Middle East but the only Muslim country that reacted negatively to Achmed was Malaysia. Everyone else loved the routine.

Sometimes the truth is best left untold. It'll cause chaos and panic and people will not trust the government and it'll be anarchy.

See, if you were intelligent you'd know that the real reason why a government wouldn't want people to know if aliens exist or not is to prevent mass panic and uproar over the idea that a civilization far more advanced than we are has not only made contact with Earth but our governments are letting them get into their pants. Nope, you just decided to be edgy and go, "Well clearly the reason why is to help religious people." If you actually paid attention rather than putting it all under a blanket statement you'd know that both Mormons and Scientologists actively discuss aliens all the damn time. The only ones who don't are tiny, non-brand-name denominational splinter factions of larger religions that are pretty much cults in all but name that prefer to follow text written by human hands as godly authority rather than think for themselves, and they only represent a tiny minority in the grander scheme of things. The only people who think otherwise are atheists who think they're so smart and badass for not following the cultural norm and that they'll change the world like a bunch of teenagers playing hooky and drunk off their ass on absinthe.

By doing this, Jeff circumvented their ban on Achmed while obeying their censorship, but at the same time forced their hand because if the Malaysian Government decided to arrest him anyway, they would have had an international incident on their hands that would have made them look even worse. Banning Achmed from his trip before he ever finally booked his tour there, so Jeff could easily cancel it, would have made sense. But the audience obviously came there to see Achmed, and the gov was a pack of power mad idiots to interfere like that, only 1 day before the show.

I commend Jeff for also being annoyed about that not only for the sake of his show but the audience too the people paid good money to see him, especially how expensive the tickets are, leaving the audience disappointed they couldn’t see a piece of his show. This is hysterical considering when my family came over from Quebec in the story is the first time I think I ever saw the name Jaques but I'm over all classified as a Chinese / Jew - Eygptian North African/ Euro . I respect all people fully ! Really I do . When It comes to comedy , They need to try to remember " It's comedy ! " Or at least try to .
