Thanks for the videos Jack. How do you go about making the flat strap taut prior to using the tensioners? Mine currently has a few 'waves' in it and I can't seem to pull it flat. It's 1mm thick.
Hi, if you have ply brace on internal walls. Do you insert plaster board over the the ply braced (assuming intenal walls are lined with plaster board)? Your video is very helpful.
Just want to add, if you do need to put ply internally, put it on the 'bows in' side of the wall so you can just pack over it to straighten the wall. I've had to rip ply off to straighten a wall too many times
Hi Jack I love videos, appreciate your work. It has helped me a lot. Just wondering can you post a video about lockup? How to straighten walls/ junctions and how to plain walls, bulkheads you know basic lockup please
Tie down requirements differ due to the region you’re building in and exposure to wind. Only cyclonic regions tend to have full length threaded rod from top plate down to slab. Most houses in Australia just require Ankascrews or Dynabolts through the bottom plate into the slab and stud ties/strapping as tie down. Some even just require Ramset nails shot through the bottom plate into slab, all depends on the area you’re building in.
Depends on the engineering requirements Bracing when done by the builder is worked out in units, ie: from the code you might work out you need 12 units of bracing going one way, so as long as what you spec adds to 12 you don’t need extra If that makes sense haha

The tension brace is pulling the wall out of plum. Why.
U guys use the pryda tie down screws at all?
Nice one mate looking forward to the next one🤙
In terms of tie downs, are the days of threaded rod in the slab gone and no longer required?
still a thing, just depends on the job

wohoo new upload
Really cool content mate thanks
can u upload a video teaching us how to cut jacks rafts and birds mouth?
For longer walls do you put another X diagonal bracing for the next 2.7m?

Where are you located
If you become a full qualified carpenter can go on and get a builders license
yeh you can, keep in mind you dont actually need to be a carpenter to become a builder
.
Need to add some comedy bro
I’m a framer not a comedian mate haha
