I make my coleslaw in food processor as well. I do not like store bought shredded cabbage it’s too dry, actually taste old. Nothing like fresh shredded cabbage and carrots for coleslaw. However, I do not use the same dressing you use. I can’t believe I have seen so many people actually putting milk, yogurt, buttermilk in coleslaw I was shocked! However, many of you folks did. I only use mayonnaise Vinegar, white vinegar that is and sugar, tiny speck of yellow mustard. Salt and pepper to taste you ought to try it sometime. It’s really great no onions, milk, yogurt, sour cream, not for me! 😂😂. Tennessee here!

I like to use that shredder blade and the chopper blade together. At the same time. That way, it gets all chopped up without leaving any big pieces and the processor does not work so hard. I use both blades at the same time.

May I suggest a Cuisinart Elemental 14 cup food processor (America's Test Kitchen best)? You can also get different size shredding and slicing disks for it. Put cabbage, carrots, etc. in the feed tube first sideways then in standing up for small pieces! Thanks for the recipe and video. Also maybe some Dijon mustard, hot sauce, and/or prepared horseradish, parsley in the dressing?

My mom makes great coleslaw with shredded cabbage & a similar dressing. She uses a combo of miracle whip, apple cider vinegar, milk & sugar. I use to make that for our little restaurant to top/side bbq pork sandwiches. Ppl always told me it was like their Grandma's! Long John Silver's taste the same but has the carrots. I do know all the big chains & big restaurants use bagged cabbage mix which is always drier(commercially dried for longer shelf life)than one shredding/chopping their own cabbage(we tried shredding & bagged at our restaurant), so when we make ours we mix the dressing together but wait to add to cabbage right before the meal so it will stay creamy. Otherwise the juice in the cabbage will start pulling out & gets thin, runny not as creamy. But I'm wondering if using the mayo with lemon juice allows it to stay creamier longer, but same taste as MW ...gonna try bc I love mayo!

I also put the salt and sugar on the cabbage and let it sit covered in the fridge for a bit before adding the wet ingredients, it tenderizes the cabbage and you can serve it without having to wait overnight. I love KFC cole slaw. Very pretty ring yor wearing on the right hand. But, I really hope you did't throw away the extra onions you cut. If so, that bothers me because food is expensiv and that's wasteful. You could put them in a baggie and pop in the fridge for something later, like if you cook a hamburger or something.

I'm sure that's delicious. But I always had a some sweet green pepper. Its delicious with or without the pepper though.

The actual KFC cole slaw was made with cabbage, carrots, Miracle Whip, sugar, and vinegar. That's all it was!

@@amyslouisianakitchen I did in the mid-80's, but my mother worked there in the late 70's and she got the recipe. I personally can't stand cole slaw and have never eaten it. 🤣 Personally I wish I could have figured out the real breading recipe, but it was sent in pre-mixed bags. I still love KFC chicken.

I don't think it's that you can't say it-- most of the signs are just showing KFC
