Sounds like the same technique they used at a school for children with autism I spent time at as a placement student almost 10 years ago. I was super uncomfortable doing that technique and actual was near tears when they were showing me it and luckily never had to do the negative reinforcement (mostly because I don't think I would have been able to do it properly). I just could not understand the forcefulness of the negative reinforcement as it was demonstrated to me. I'm by no means saying it was wrong or that it isn't valid, it just really shocked me and was not something I felt right doing- espcially with a child that was not my own. Anyway, I'm really glad it worked out well for you and Jax. Do you use a lot of ABA/ IBI techniques to help Jax learn?
Pineapple is an excellent pre-biotic because the interior fruit cannot be contaminated by pesticides. Constipation is a pretty easy thing to solve within a few weeks of adding pre and pro-biotics to diet.
