  • As the first person in the world to be conferred with a Masters Degree in Western Esotericism (University of Exeter) magick and the occult is my life.
After 45 years of esoteric and occult work, here is an introduction for absolute beginners in western esotericism to the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, founded in 1888 by Mathers, Woodman and Westcott.
This video features rare archive material from research over the last forty years including photographs of the original cypher manuscripts and membership roll of the Golden Dawn.
In future videos I will explain more about magical orders and many other aspects of western esotericism, so please like and subscribe to @MarcusKatzAuthor if you would like to see these future videos as soon as they are released.
I encourage you to leave a comment here, make your own personal suggestions for future videos or ask me any questions about western esotericism or the occult, that would be appreciated and I will get straight back to you with an answer!
You can learn how to conduct magical spells with our popular courses on alchemy, wicca, witchcraft, natural magic, haeg wica (Hedge Witchcraft), candle magic, spell crafting, tarot, herbalism, mystery schools, psychic protection, ancient Egyptian magic and more if you would like to join us at Magicka School: www.magicka-sc....
The Crucible Club, which is preparation for joining us in the Order of Everlasting Day and includes the more detailed teaching of all these ten steps (and more), is available at www.everlastingday.com.

I am happy or rather relieved that you are open to questions. I was in a group for 9 years that was doing what they called spiritual midwifery which meant that questions were turned back onto the questioner so that they would find their own answers. They hated the word "teach" as in you could not teach the material or explain it to others. The result was that the whole group stopped asking questions on the material since they could not really talk about it.
I feel that information should explored between group members. I was a rebel in this group and openly talked about the material but I also was told to stop answering questions. Eventually I left this group because I really hated to see everyone struggling and being misinformed.

I was always encouraged to ask questions as I went to a rather wonderfully "progressive" High School, and that continued when I found my first esoteric teacher. So I've always thought it natural to be in an environment that fostered questions, discussions and discovery. Glad to find that resonates with your experience. Marcus.

That was a cracking video to wake up to Marcus, Ty. Strangely I had to do a double take at the end as I heard ‘The worker is hidden in the chip shop’ 😮 lol. And of course you didn’t say that! But it does suggest to me I’m not where I’m supposed to be (very true), and I need to get my ass back to the workshop. Watching had already made me think ‘oh yes I need to do so & so :)
Of course you didn’t know I was going to watch this or hear that😅… you gotta love the universe 🫢🍄!
Thanks again for this, I will be sending you a question later on 👍.
