  • A DIY how-to video showing how we built a raised bed protective cover or garden/veg protection. This is an easy and simple homemade alternative to a hoophouse.
Using basic tools and our DIY skills we wanted to share the process and final raised bed protective cover. We only use basic household DIY tools with simple and easy methods. Follow our tutorial and learn from our techniques. This is designed to protect your vegetables or flowers from unwanted pests or in our case a puppy. Last year we had a lot of butterflies and caterpillars on our salad and vegetables, so this will help keep out the butterflies so they can not lay eggs and eat our veg. This is an easy beginner friendly DIY project you can tackle over a weekend, as it doesn't require any fancy tools nor advanced building skills. The covers can be made in all sizes and shapes to fit your needs. The overall project was super cheap as the materials are all low in cost.

Thank you for very clear instructions. I need to build several of this for my raised beds. The rabbits finally found my garden. We live in an HOA and fences are not allowed.
Can’t wait for the next project.

Wonderful video. But I’ll have to admit, I had to watch it twice because I just couldn’t keep my eyes off of the sweet little puppy. So precious. Of all the raised bed covers videos I’ve watched, I’ll be doing your cover. Thank you.

@@thehandyhumans3427 Thanks for the video. Helpful and we'll be using it. AND, I agree with Catherine... LOVE the dog. We're looking for one. May I ask what breed is she? Mini poodle and Lab? And how old? THANK YOU!

Thanks for this great video. I'm not handy and sadly didn't find your video till the day AFTER I finished my first one on my own which took many hours of making and remaking the cube. Your video didn't come up on any searches or would have saved me a ton of time. May others find it more readily! Happy gardening!

Any updates? I am always looking for garden building ideas.
Idea, a small hanging basket under your table so you can access your tools easier. I am lost without my tool baskets, I cannot find tools without them.

Great idea for a small build Joanne. We are currently in the process of moving so once we are in the new place there will be more projects on the way 👍
