Kanami was a virtuoso guitarist when Miku found her. Akane and MISA attended the Tokyo School Of Music together. But Miku couldn't even play guitar. She's wearing it as a prop.
Band Maid refers to their fans as “Masters and Princesses”. I know that sounds weird, but it’s taken from Maid Cafe’s in Japan, that’s what patrons of those restaurants are called and that is the inspiration for the band.
The fans themselves refer to each other as “Maidiacs”
And yes, I have a hard time believing they’re as amazing as they are… because I don’t think any band today sounds this good or is even close. So at any age I find that amazing.

At this moment their record label was about to drop them, which very possibly would end in a break-up. Some were already considering looking for other projects.
Then suddenly this video went viral because of some shares on social media. Rest is history, and they just passed 200 million views in total on RUclips.
They formed and first played together in 2013, and they have about 150 original songs to date. Their new album comes out this summer.

Band-Maid fanbase = "Maidiacs" At the time this video was released, all of them were in their early-to-mid 20s. The youngest, singer Saiki, was born in 1994 and was 20 when this video dropped in late November 2014. Bassist MISA was born in 1993 (just turned 21 a few weeks before the video came out), Rhythm Guitarist/2nd Vocalist Miku and lead guitarist Kanami both in 1991 (both just turned 23 a few weeks before the video came out - they're about a month apart), and drummer Akane in 1990 (23 when the video came out, but within a few weeks of turning 24).
They were actually early 20s here. They are between 30-33 now. This was their first video, and a single released between their 1st and 2nd albums.
They just released their newest video, "Bestie," today.

All of these young ladies had some experience before BAND-MAID, they have all struggled in different musical constellations before this band got together and they all started out young, like really young. This one is their first MV but they had already released a full album before this, which is really good but it's more on the poprock side.

This was the song and video that saved their careers. The label they had was going to drop them if this song did not chart or sell. Well, this is the one song and video that started it all for a lot of maidiacs as it was one of the first songs to do good. The record label kept them after this as it was a big sell for them, at least in Japan and the rest is history.
If you think these ages are crazy, you should listen to The Warning as the oldest is now 24 and they started real young, over a decade ogo.

"Apparently they have a lot of music", lol! Over ten tears together and over 100 songs, I guess you could say they have a lot of music, and all good! Maidiac forever here! They were early twenty's and upper teens, and just keep getting better! They are in their early 30's now.
yup - 10 years old - this mv came out in 2014. and they actually had an entire cd the year before this song in 2013 so they are 11 years in now.
