    Since purchasing the Air Fryer Griddle Combo from Blackstone, many people have asked if the air fryer addition is really worth it. Today I go over what I love most, as well as some issues I have with this Blackstone Griddle, and give my final take in this full review, on whether the air fryer and griddle combo from Blackstone are worth it to buy!

      epiclystellar hey! Sorry for the late response! I had an after market tarp/cover, but found with as humid as it gets here in Florida, it would trap the moisture and pull up the seasoning on the griddle surface. It is under a covered area, and it seems to be good for now with just the hood, although I have been researching other “breathable” covers. Take care!

    110% agree Brother. Love the videos. You guys are great! We use air fryer in the house all the time. When I saw air fryer option, I hunted one down. Putting it together, I think a lefty had this genius air fryer idea!! Hope they got a raise!! Only couple little changes. Like another magnet for us right hamd folks. My permanent place fixes the tank issue with shelf folding. Love the one got visiting youngest in Indiana. Had to add air fryers for one at home. Son laughed. I 100% agree with him. I bought this item in April, it has been better then I expected. I am a short order cook for my family now and they love it.. great investment.. if you have any issues with low flame, it is probably the regulator. A quick reset will fix that problem.

Also I purchased my griddle with out the intentions of using another air fryer so I went with the 36" pro series for the added drawers for storage and cubby to hide the LP tank instead. Just made the first meal on my new Blackstone 28” Culinary model with the air fryer. Tried smash burgers and sweet potato fries and they came out perfect. No issues with the grill but the air fryer takes longer to cook the fries than advertised. Was supposed to take 20 mins shaking the basket every 5 mins. Took more like 25-30 mins but they did come out nice and crispy. Next up- Chicken stir fry, so far so good, love this grill & never had a better burger at home.

    I previously did not have a diet of chicken wings, sweet potato fries, chicken strips, etc ruclips.net/user/postUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB but I have (no exaggeration) been using this air fryer daily since I received it about two months ago. It is easy to use, preheating is a great feature, the nonstock basket has had no issues with food sticking. I place a piece of foil underneath the basket for easy cleanup. The handle has become only slightly loose, but a screwdriver and pliers should take care of it. I have noticed that occasionally the LED display panel has a freakout and lights up during use, but it doesn't appear to interfere with the heating cycle. It has improved the texture of foods dramatically. I highly recommend this.

    Love the videos and thanks for comments on this Blackstone. Now that the weather is getting better a little north of you all, I have couple of questions:
    1. What is the measurements of air fry baskets? 2. Do you use a lot of propane for this unit? I’m considering the 28” due to electric air fry. Thanks!

    • @waltwins
      @waltwins  3 года назад +2

      Thank you so much for watching and for the question! While we aren’t exactly sure, they are on the larger size, most likely 5.0 quart. I tried to do a bit of research when I saw your question and was surprised I couldn’t find the exact answer! For the propane use, we get 20+ hours - we have really been impressed (roughly the same we would get with a propane grill) - mostly because we cook mostly in med/low for most foods. Hope this helps!!

    I think the sides can switched that way you don't knock your tools off when turning the propane on and off. And yes the magnetic side would be in the back if you flip them but that give more room in the front and its not to far of a grab for them. Buy an extension and quick connect fitting. Single if you only want 1 line. They come in various lengths with fittings. Then you can put your tank any where you want to hide it. Mine is hooked into my deck LP gas system. It is supplied from my 800L tank that runs the gas stove, fire place, home radiant heat boiler. water tank and last but not least my grill!

    I ordered mine and am picking it up tomorrow. Very excited and enjoyed your very helpful videos while researching and making my decision.
    Question- can u use the air fryers on their own without turning on grill?
    One more- do u ever put lid down while cooking on a griddle as you would on a bbq?

    • @waltwins
      @waltwins  3 года назад +2

      Hello! Thank you so much for watching, and yay!! Congratulations!! So exciting! Yes! We use the air fryer all the time - you turn the gas on, and the fan, and then light it. The griddle cooks are typically very quick (a common “complaint” among griddle owners who want to sit back and enjoy rather than actively cook🤣), but I do use the hood often, just like I would for bbq! I purchased the 36” without the air fryers, and it wasn’t because of cost, but because I already have a big box air fryer and a regular air fryer that I’ve NEVER used! Lol Two of them, and not one time have I ever used them, crazy, huh? My kids aren’t little anymore, and I don’t cook any corn dogs or chicken nuggets. But I can see where families with kids would love that feature. I just didn’t want the extra bulk when I probably won’t use them any more than the ones I already have. God Bless! 🙏🏼

      @@waltwins ended up going with the 28 inch griddle with deep fryer/dual side burners. I still do not see us using the deep fryer but we have used the side burners multiple times for pasta and rice sides.
      Bottom line we love it. For our family of 4 the 28 is more than adequate. If there was a 36 with side burners we would have went that route but loosing a few inches was worth gaining the side burners for us. It means all the cooking can be done on the griddle. We dont need someone inside making the side. I can do it all on the Blackstone.
      I was originally worried about cleaning the griddle. We have been pleasantly surprised that it is much less work than washing multiple pans after cooking on the stove. With the occasional exception of a sauce pan the only thing we are washing are utensils, serving platter and rubbermaid containers used for marinating stuff. Not pans though which is awesome.

    How much have you used the warming drawer? Is it a useful feature or something that is neat but not needed?

    • @waltwins
      @waltwins  2 года назад +3

      Great question! Over 2 years, we very seldom use the drawer. That said, it did come in handy when serving larger groups - to keep burger patties or hot dogs warm. Hope this helps fam. The air fryer drawers are incredible though!🤙🤙

      @@waltwins Thanks. I bought one a couple of weeks ago. Your video swayed me to get the 4 burner, because no one has ever said they wished they'd have bought the smaller one.

    Bro, from Kissimmee, just got mine yesterday. Did my most delicious stir fry and veggies on it for the 1st cook. Doing smash burgers tonight. I am in love with it already!

    Can you make chicken wings on it? I love the grilled wing taste so just wondering how they are on the griddles.

      Thank you so much for watching! If you check other videos on our channel, we have two wing cooks - one on the griddle top, and one in the air fryer. Hope this helps!! Take care!🤙🤙

    How is the cleanup in the air fryer drawers?

    • @waltwins
      @waltwins  4 года назад +2

      Rough!😜 I’ve found that if I clean after a cook - even wipe and then stick in the dishwasher, they clean much better - I’ve waited a while before and it required a ton of elbow grease!🤙🤙

    I haven't purchased one yet, but it seems Air Fryer recipes are all based on timing. No built in timer, correct?

    • @waltwins
      @waltwins  3 года назад +1

      Thank you so much for watching! Yes - no built in timer. We have burned a few things, and we’ve really gotten used to using the phone timer!😄😄. Otherwise, these are incredible, we use the air fryers all the time!

    What is that knod on the bottom and what do you do with it?

    • @waltwins
      @waltwins  2 года назад +2

      Thank you for watching! The knob on the bottom is to control the air fryer cook. Both drawers cook at the same time/temp. The third drawer is a food warmer. Hope this helps!🤙🤙

    Around here it's $649 which is another $250-$350 over the griddle. It seems nice but i am choking on the price difference and doing the lower carb thing will I 'really' use the air fryer?

    • @waltwins
      @waltwins  2 года назад +2

      We get it - my wife didn’t want to pay the difference either, but we use the air fryer all the time, making it totally worth it for us. Cheers!🤙🤙

      It's just so hard to know if I would use it. I got the premium blackstone 36 griddle ordered today from lowes. Mayble I'll try a separate air fryer later.

    Can a natural gas line be used instead of the propane tank?

    • @waltwins
      @waltwins  4 года назад +1

      Hello! It’s my understanding that the Air Fryer combo cannot be converted - there is no conversion kit - however, many others can including the pro series. Thanks so much for watching!
