Terrified in darkness
Another victim in its sight
So cold so heartless
A hunger never satisfied
Eyes of death
Mouth of hell
This wretched swamp
We know so well
The hate that we hide
Crawls up from the depths
We gave you an inch
But you went for the neck
Take what you want
Prey on the weak
We are the broken
We are the beast
Hunters of all
Swallow you whole
Dragging you down in a death roll
Condemned from birth
Underneath the dying sun
There can be no future here
When your instinct’s eat the young
Hand in hand through the wasteland
We wave our final goodbye
Kill em all ‘til there’s nothing left x3
Cold blooded ‘til the last breath
Take what you want
Prey on the weak
We are the broken
We are the beast
Hunters of all
Swallow you whole
Dragging you down in a death roll
Death roll

0:00 - 3:02 I really like that part.
No way. ME TOO
Same man those parts were the best
Haha I like smartasses 👊😜🤘
You eat corn the long way
Record label: how many pinch harmonics do you want?
Wage War: YES
Move over ATB - behold the crown ......shhhheeeeessshhh
@@nickrobinson324 hahaha right 🤣🤣
@@nickrobinson324 maybe, maybe, maybe . . .
The after the burial effect.
@@nickrobinson324 I think atb did it better
At first, I assumed Relapse and High Horse had the heaviest breakdowns on the album.
My mistake.
I think we all made this mistake. Hahaha
jep haha
@@Crotes1990 Thank GOD they leaned back heavy...I was ready to give up
Shit I thought it was After The Burial until the vocal came in, this song reminds me of Behold The Crown by ATB soooooo much, love it.
OMG as soon as I heard it I was like “this sounds very familiar” but couldn’t figure it out
@@tylerjones8145 lmao, I thought I played the wrong song, was so confused, got to check which band I was playing lol.
Haha man of culture. As soon as I heard those high notes it reminded me of lost in the static. Which is a banger. The breakdown on this song tho is filthy.
@@tylerjones8145 yeah..me either 😅😂😂
Bruh, bout time someone said it. Thank you king, atb covered a wagewar song rite here lol
This album so far seems to have borrowed a bit of djent from after the burial and numetal from Korn and I fucking love it.
The beginning gave off ATB vibes and I love it
We were all thinking of Behold the Crown with those pinch harmonics
@@isaacy.3227 100%
Hearing a lot of Slipknot Corey Taylor in the vocals, especially in the phrasing in the verses.
That breakdown is just absolute pure filth. It literally turned me into a dancing demon
Wage War went heavy with this one. I wonder if they thought of ending it at 2:40 when the lead guitars fade out.
Felt boring and dull to me, I understand why I don't listen to metalcore now, it all sounds the same.
The breakdown had me doing the stank face cause GAH DAMN ITS GNARLY
@@TobikunOuO Okay but you better not listen to deathcore then
@@skylermead8781 No but same here. Like my face got NASTEE.
Honestly? Manic, for me, is an album that can face off with Deadweight. And this song in particular feels like a spiritual successor to The River. Blueprints vibes en masse. Fucking good album my guys.
Couldn't agree more dude
it's what I've been waiting for since Blueprints to be entirely honest. I was a bit let down by Pressure but this hit the fucking SPOT
This song is literally the only song that gives off Blueprints vibes tho lol
@@screamingonMUTEx Not true. You know, Blueprints isnt just The River. But I still dont view this album as a successor to Blueprints, but easily a great blend of it and their newer sound. Its good, I really dig this album, way better than Pressure.
I did mean Death Roll with Blueprints vibes. The rest is somewhere between a great version of Pressure and Deadweight.
I listened through this album on the commute home from work at midnight when the album dropped, I was on a subway.
I almost yelled "BRUH" when this song kicked in.
When they play this live, this song will be an absolute bloodbath on the floor.
See you in the pit
It was
See them 4/6 with In This Moment and fn SLIPKNOT!!!🤘🤘🤘
It went something like this, "SPLIT THIS FLOOR DOWN THE FUCKING MIDDLE"
Just heard it tonight. It was fucking legendary
Dude this band has literally never disappointed me once like even with pressure I actually liked most of the songs on that album but this album ever single one is amazing
Based af
Couldn't agree more
Btw pressure was fire, and even if you prefer heavier sounds, pressure was a testament to their talent as musicians and a band. Most bands turn pop and flop in an attempt to reacher a wider audience and make more money. I’m not against it though. It weeds out the not so good artists. Pressure though? Every song was solid. Even with the mainstream approach. Honestly it blows me away they went heavier again but I dig it. I was really worried about this one but man was I worried for nothing.
@@alexgriffith1451 ya it was, my favorite two off of there was fury and the line
@@alexgriffith1451 I liked pressure but i wouldn’t say it’s a testament to their talent as musicians when Grave was basically all vocals and production with like 4 guitar notes and a drum beat lol
1:40 - 2:06
Pure filth 🔥🥵👿🔥🥵 Arguably the best song off of the album
That After The Burial influence tho, Death Roll is one of the best songs off the entire album 100% straight fire 🔥
I thought i was the only one who thought it sounded similar to behold the crown at the opening 😊
When you give Wage War a 7th/8th string for djenty and make guitar go wrrrr
I was thinking Lamb of God, but yeah
Influence? You mean straight rip?
@@HREFB always some salty fanboy trying to say this lol
that pinch harmonic breakdown is fucking sick. its like i wanna punch a tree down with my bare hands to that fucking riff
Wage War has crushed the scene since day 1. A huge inspiration of ours for sure. If you like this song check out our new single "The Human Condition". I think you'd dig it! Stay rad my friend 🤘
Holy crap. This song slaps.
1:15 with that nasty bleeeeeeeech…. Has a special place in my heart
This song must be about the emotions Shrek felt when he says his father tried to eat him as a baby.
wait for Nik's reaction to this one holy SHITT
You don't need to wait, I can sum up exactly what he is going to say. "zeros" "Banger" "okay Wage War". He is so inciteful.
@@stevenbrooks8983 true lmao
@@AdamDoing2326 I haven’t been keeping up with AA i lost interest years ago
"We got the harms, the pinchies, the bow wows. It's a banger!"
Check out the VOD on his twitch channel from last Friday, he reacted to this live and Manic with two of the guys from Wage War
This is the true meaning of breakdown
This album slaps harder than an angry step-father!!
This song is the byproduct of a Wage War/After the Burial one night stand. (See Behold the Crown by ATB)
...And I'm absolutely down with that sickness! 🤘🤙🤘
Lost in the static as well
My face when the first riff came on instant cerebral palsy
🤣🤣🤣 perfect description there.
Hahaha legit 🤣
Great comment.
Same though, looked at both my kids with intent to punt
As someone with Cerebral Palsy who gets in the mosh pits. I completely agree 🤘🏻🤘🏻
After The Burial - Beho……
oh, nevermind
So f*cking good!!
I said it first lol but true
I was like: "Hmm, where have I heard that sound? Oh, AtB."
First thought in my head when i heard it
@@ДмитрийХристодуло same. Kind of cheap by wage war
My thoughts exactly 😆 but I dont even care both songs are great
Holy fucking shit that breakdown...it's impossible to NOT make the stank face when that shit drops
Saw/heard this band for the first time at knotfest and omg I've been missing out lol absolutely love them live and found a new band
Oh look the Crocodile song! 🔥🎸 🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🔥🎸
Well I'm lost now. I mean, Wage War up to this point has been pretty gnarly with breakdowns and an overall heavy rock/metalcore vibe, but this was like.. metal. That guitar solo could be straight out of the blackened deathcore scene. Just wow. It's like the first time I listened to Painkiller after going through J Priest's older stuff. Like yeah, their old albums are great and have a fun rock n roll vibe, but when guitar solo hits on Painkiller you realize that this isn't rock, this is metal. Same experience here.
I literally went 'YESS DUUUUUDE" when the solo kicked in, I like metalcore and deathcore, but if it has a tasty and functional solo im all for it
There was an age of guitar solos and an era of breakdowns so why not both now >:)
@@Nestorglass ah yes it all comes together now, this is the year! :D
@@Crotes1990 bout time modern metal opened itself up to different influences again srsly
This song combines After the Burial and Code Orange. Banger.
I heard this on a local radio station and at the into said new ATB??? Heard the vocals and was mind blown. So good.
@@lonesharp1106 This plays on a radio in your country? Cool!
Jesus christ the breakdown and opening riff killed me🔥🔥🔥🔥
My God, those harmonics are tasty
Holy shit that went super hard. I think that's the 1st song I've heard from them where I had a stank face through half of it. The breakdowns here just super heavy I'm looking forward to this album.
Uhh The River? But I do think Death Roll topped it, which is really surprising
@@antwan1131 the River is a great song which I agree goes hard as a song I play on the drums I can't help but headbang
oh yeah guy
EASILY one of the best songs they've EVER written 🤯🔥
2LitMafia is gonna break 6 keyboards to this, holy fuck.
And that’s before the first breakdown.
God I hope so lmaoooo
🤘 Stay lit Sway!
😂😂😂
Guitarist: how many squeals?
The band: yes
What genre of music is this, literally what I’ve been searching for
Dudes shows that metalcore is not dead and ,moreover, pretty alive and successful. Love it. Give us more shit like that!
This has got to be a new opener to the setlist
Probably one of the sickest breakdowns I've heard in a long time
Had never heard anything from them and went to see them with Three Days Grace this past Friday. They were AWESOME!!!!!! They have gained a new fan!!!!
I'm literally shaking from how amazing this song and the rest of the album are
Amazing? This felt like every other generic metalcore track that has ever been produced....
@@TobikunOuO Ok, so what are your recommendations?
@@TobikunOuO You trollin guy? What's soooooo much better for ya
@@LaynithanDarling he probably gonna say thunderstruck
@@TobikunOuO you furries should really learn when to shut up
Songs like this, high Horse, stitch, and the river are when this band is at its best. I don't care for any of the more radio friendly songs on the album but this slaps!
I wish the whole album was like this song .🤘
This is hands down probably the best fucking song they have ever made! My favorite before this was The River. But damn the transitions and new sounds from them marinate my ears in brutality. 10/10
Top 5 for sure imo
Listened to this song a million times and just noticed the demonic/animal growl @2:51
so sick
It took me a few listens (and some good headphones) to hear it at first. love that gator growl
Wage war has evolved into their final form. This album is INSANE
Major Code Orange vibes from this song. A little After The Burial as well. Best song on the album. Hands down.
Don't wanna sound dramatic, but this might be one of Wage War's best songs. 3 mins of absolute carnage 👊
Fucking right!!!!
this might be one of the best Wage War's albums
@@ZangetsuXXL1 it's definitely up there, but nothing will come close to Blueprints .
Oh f*ck yeah. Everything about this track is amazing, absolutely brutal. Those riffs, guitar tones, vocals, breakdowns, rhythms, production, etc. just pure power. This song rips man!
Check out my instrumental cover of wage war :) ruclips.net/video/tUFZTiMSmvY/видео.html
I was enjoying my wonderful Sunday evening when this song came on and started smashing my windows with a tire iron. All the while yelling Death Roll!
Nobody talks about that sexy fuckin solo they threw in there before that breakdown and its kinda upsetting😅 just goes to show you the skill this band has, they give you a little kiss goodnight before they smash your head in with that breakdown👹
Intro reminds me of "Behold The Crown" by After the burial
This is like After The Burial x Kublai Khan with a pinch of their style
That breakdown reminds me of Texas in July Bed of Nails a little bit.
I’m fairly new to Wage War and this is the only album of theirs I have. No complaints about it, every song is amazing
Same my friend introduced me to them lately and I've gone through every song on this album and the blueprints album and I'm loving this band
Weightlifting while crushing chest and back is another level with this song
This song takes me to an inner place that lets me deal with the rest of my day... post when I put my ear buds in for this masterpiece!! and the late brake down fucking gets my soul!!
This song is filthier than my search history
Prove It
"Hi, welcome to the sushi bar. What will you be having?"
"Umm yeah I'll take an order of the DEATH ROLL!!!!"
"Extra wasabi please"
@2:49 you can here a crocodile snarl. Hence death roll.
That breakdown is so fire! It's like every metal metalcore tech and trope put into one segment
Edit: 1:50
[You have obtained a 7th/8th string guitar]
Wage Wage: "Haha Guitar go weeeeee and wrrrrrrrrrr"
That gator growl at the end is such a nice touch
opener gave me some after the burial vibes
Behold the crown
This is one of the most skullcruahing choruses I've ever heard. THAT RIFF?! *chefs kiss*
Love how they added the sound of a gator growling towards the end 👌🏻🤘🏻
I deadass was like “is this after the burial” and the vocals came in like “what the fuck” it’s wage war 😳
I like most songs in this album. This one is super good. This songs is super close to the deadweight album.
Really does remind me of Behold the Crown by After the Burial In this. Fucking badass 🤘🏻
That crocodile growl just before the end is the most badass sound effect I've ever heard in a metal song fucking hell
those harmonics are searing on that intro guitar, espeically the one right before the turn around, the lower one, good god people :)
Nobody going to talk about how this song is a brutal appreciation piece for crocodiles??I want more brutal, djenty pieces about animals just doing their thing and being absolute units, one of my favourite songs to listen to before I go practice bjj for obvious reasons
Most underrated comment here 🤣 I love them for it
This is most metal shit I've heard in years. My neighbors prolly think I'm trying to hide a gorilla.
The first time I heard it, listening to those harmonics, I felt a powerful chill.
To me, the best song in this album even the letter are on point, great great song
Goes so hard 🔥🔥🔥 this album needs to be cherished for all of eternity as a lyrical and musical mastetpeice
the B L E G H is the STRONGEST I've EVER seen 👏👏
This song makes me wanna swim with a alligator
Heaviest song on the album, the use of such classic metal tropes for the breakdown actually works really well.
The breakdown gives me goosebumps
Finally something good from Wage War. Keep *THIS* shit up boys.
Man, this song!!!! Amazing! We still have great songs nowadays. The harmonic riff 🤩
That gator growl at 2:50 is such a cool sample
Loving the new album so far. Harmonics are so sexy too
after the burial vibes, love it!
Wait till y’all see this song live it’s insane all I want for Christmas is them to release a live music video of this song
Just saw a reel on FB about this song... Instantly sold. :D
Probably the best song of tonight's set
May well be the best Wage War song to date. BIG step up from Pressure. Good for them for taking a lighter vibe and trying something new but heavy Wage War is what we need.
The only album that I LOVED every single song ever, my god this is a masterpiece.
They need to make a video of this song with just footage of gators and crocs death rolling 🤘🤘🤘🤘
The beginning of this song reminds me of After the Burial's "Behild the Crown"
Impressionante
the solo came outta *NOWHERE* this song is a straight up *BANGER*
Heaviest Banger I've heard from them in a way I never thought possible......
I'm telling you guys.....this is the number one wage war album for me......and I defend it with my life
This album took the best aspects of Pressure and made it better. Masterpiece
am at work right now and am fucking headbanging everywhere..
Dude this is my daily alarm. You can already how hype my day is right? Literally everybody wakes up to this song every morning lol. I just lay awake for sometime and after the breakdown hits then I turn the alarm off. Usually everybody hates their alarm song bcoz it wakes them up but I love mine.
Best on the new album for me. Has a Lamb of God vibe to it. Love it
After the Burial is typing...
This is some of their best work. This album is straight fire. Good shit boys
I soiled myself throughout this whole song.
I listen to this song just to hear that gator growl in the last breakdown! Amazing song
