Ooooooooooooo Lord!!!! Thank you sooooo much.u just don't know how helpful this was for me. My spouse has since passed. He took care of our lawn. I just tried to give our lawn it's first trim of the season and the string ran out. I hoped on RUclips, to found a trimmer like ours and. WOW.....u were it ...I just learned to restring our trimmer and finished our lawn .....WOW! U ROCK!!!! Thanks. So much for helping this old lady learn something new about trimmers.
im sorry for your loss. he was a lucky man to have someone as strong and smart as you. let me know if you ever need any help figuring something out ill do my best.
I was struggling with mine. Line kept coming all the way out every time I strung it. This is the first video that showed me my spring was missing!!!!!! Luckily I had a comparable spring on hand. Thank you!
I"m afraid I followed all your directions and was hopeful. But once I started weed wacking again, all the cord came out right away. Back to Harbor Freight! lol.
So the actual directions in the manual that comes with this weed wacker are WRONG. The instructions say to just press another button located under there. But thankfully, you are showing us the correct way to take the cap off. Otherwise, I was getting ready to bring it straight back to Harbor Freight! Portland had better get it's act together regarding that manual.
I keep spooling the line as you show and doing all you say in the video but it keeps overfeeding it and wasting the line🥺 What should I do??? I exchanged the machine(bought 2 days ago) today with a new one because I had the same problem with the first one, I don't know what I'm doing wrong😭 Please help me🙏
I kept my finger on the trigger and didn't let it go, and it still feed all of the line I had just spooled, tried respooling again and tried but keeps doing the same thing😭 Anything else I can try to make it work correctly?
is it missing the tiny spring under the spool? are you putting the spool in with the gear side facing in toward the tiny spring. are you wrapping string backwards?
@@sabrinapreston2390 I can relate. I’ve seen videos just like this and I like the spooling too and bottom at the same time, bust as soon as I use it the entire line shoots out. I saw another video before this one where he wrapped the top and bottom separate, but he put each string in the bitches first then wrapped it in the direction of the arrows while keeping it tight and showed that it was working. I’ll be trying that when I wake up
I have the same problem with my trimmer. What I do is, as I spool line and tighten it to where the line won't loosen and cut the two lines that come out through the holes to length. And when ever I need more line I just take off the cover and loosen the line to feed more line. It might seem like it's a lot of work but I don't have to feed more line that often. As long as I don't hit anything hard that will cut my lines I'm fine without feeding new line out of the spool. If you have figured it out on how to do it properly let me know as I would like to know how it won't overfeed any more. Thanks
You're the first video to actually show how to do this easily and correctly, thanks!
nice!
I agree!!
I’m 42 and this process has been a thorn in my side for years…. Thank you!!!!👍🏻
You are so welcome!
Thank you for your close up shots. Because of them I successfully added new line to my weed whacker.

Wow! This is the best, and I think only, video that perfectly demonstrates how to do this from start to finish. Thank you.

Thank you!!! So easy after seeing your video!!!
Glad it helped!
Also, the directions say nothing about how to wrap the cord. You are doing Portland a HUGE favor explaining their product, Sir.
The whole video was perfect
thanks!
Thank You!!
Thank you so much!
Great video!
Good video thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Good information
Thanks

Sounds like you either wrapped it the wrong direction or its missing a spring

How to put bottom together when apart
watch the video it shows how
How do you clean this tool? The bottom part, Can it be washed?
if you rinse it keep the water out of the motor part and only rinse the bottom of the guard
Awesome
Does thia machine just requiere curb nylon? I have tried a couple of twisted linea and the machine Does not work. Line get scramble
I only use round line. The fancy triangle or square lines get tangled.
Also a touch of spray oil on the line keeps it flowing smooth.
I need a new dual line spool. What and where can I get a replacement spool?
amzn.to/3jrUXZi
Thanks but I need dual string spool with notch in middle for restringing
amzn.to/2WBcgOA
Why is my line constantly feeding out without stopping?
Wrapping the line backwards or missing the spring inside
I don't get it. I bought a new one and there is clear string at the bottom each one is looped.
What is the question?
@@smallengineguys oh..I watched your vid a couple times and figured it out. Thanks! It's a really good weed Wacker!
👍👍👍

every time you let off the trigger it auto feeds line out. the trick is to never let go of the trigger till you need line.

My string broke right away.
Notching is the problem. None shows how it is notched.
NOT SUPPOSED TO BE NOTCHED. YOUR HEAD IS BAD TIME FOR A NEW ONE
Three times!!😂
?
9ft
Depends on line size
2:40
so you put the loop in the slot
