I love how Spiderverse is self aware enough to potray him as a joke that every character at the start laughed at him also called him a low tier villain and how he's really offended by it. So then he actually became a huge threat because he's really taking it personal.

Here is the thing...The Gauntlet was very good about doing this with tons of Spidey's villains. Shocker with the suit that canceled kinetic energy, was terrifying. Teleporting Electro. Intelligent Lizard. Enhanced strength Rhino with a broken heart...it got dark but at the same time it reminded you that most of Spidey's rogues are scary and not to be joked about. Sure, Pete gives them shit as a tactic, but they're walking natural disasters.

The fight with Daredevil is interesting because of how DD sees The Spot. To sighted people, he still looks like he has the silhouette of a man, just with some black circles painted on his body, but since DD sees with sound, the dude is just riddled with holes. I kinda like him in his original incarnation. He's a guy who just takes his superpowers out for a joyride before realizing that getting punched by superheroes hurts and hanging up the spots. We need more unmotivated people with superpowers, and Spot being sort of ordinary (Pays his bills, hits the gym maybe once a week if he remembers) could be a fun way to go with him. Every now and then a hero or villain will light a fire under him to get him off the couch, but just letting him be and having him use his powers for personal convenience rather than heroism/villainy would be kind of relatable, I think. The endless learning potential of the internet is out there, but really all we use it for is cat pictures: Same for Spot.

One of my favorite comic moments to this day is a scene where all these minor villains were in a court room and She Hulk happens to burst through the wall. And as she's fighting them, she goes "Porcupine? Aren't you suppose to be dead?" And Porcupine literally goes, "You're right, I am! *Hrk*" And falls over dead. And his b-list villain friends has a South Park moment and goes "Oh my god! She-Hulk killed Porcupine! You bastard!"

Imagine an army of Spots crawling out of another's chest. They could simply swarm that universe's spider-man or whoever else, kill them, move to the next one.
If any writer established a connection like this, Spot could be a multiversal threat. Could even add onto that threat by letting them combine their portals to make black holes with enough of them, and to make it darker, say the spots have to be condensed onto a single iteration of the character to turn them into the black hole like drake suggested.

i love how seemingly everyone who wrote for Spot after his initial appearance simply saw him at a glance and decided he was a joke despite him being potentially one of the most dangerous of marvels Z-listers, like the man is a walking spacial anomaly. if we wanted to treat his power with even just a little bit of weight he could practically collapse all of reality,
but it does speak volumes to the Spideverse team that they did the homework and knew EXACTLY how much Spot could become, and provide for the story

While his origin is different since it has to include the multiverse collider from the first movie(maybe they'll mention Cloak and Dagger in the third movie since there was a mention of dark matter twice, but I wouldn't mind if they didn't), I think they did a pretty good job with the portrayal.

My only experience with the spot was more or less limited to the 90's Spider-Man Animated Series, but I always really enjoyed the character and the concept. I've spent more time than I care to admit thinking about having that ability. I also (for fun) like to build my own Spider-Man universe and mini stories, and the Spot is always included on the list. He might not be my favourite, but he's definitely someone I enjoy. Honestly with Spider-Man more than any other rogues gallery makes me struggle to pick a favourite villain. That first run was solid with a surprising amount of crossovers and went for 50 issues, and the new interpretation has potential. The spider verse angle of him being multidimensional is actually a great way to explain his multiple personalities and unexplained resurrections. What if his spots don’t just link space, but also every version of him together. Each one could present differently like the various spider men throughout the spiderverse but have a kind of hive mind. That way every time one dies, the others remember and someone can jump into his dimension if they feel like it. It would also explain his different costumes and looks, it’s all him, but different hims.
