Can you tell me what you thought it was before you heard this video,?Some people have paranoid schizophrenia and it's far worse and they live in a world of total fear and hide away with their blinds down and hide under their bed covers because their brain terrifies them, they stay away from others and it's very rare for them to commit violent crime,99% will hurt or kill themselves than ever want to get another person, they have an unusual closeness with animals and animals seem to be very drawn to these people.

My younger cousin was diagnosed with schizophrenia a few years ago. She had just married her high school sweetheart and had a baby. Within a year of her wedding, her husband had divorced her and took her baby daughter to the other side of the country. Even my aunt and her 2 sisters abandoned her. I’ve been trying to help her stay on her feet, but I was also in my 20’s when this first came about and I had no idea about schizophrenia or how to help her.
Anyway, I really appreciate these videos, because it’s given me further insight into what my cousin may be experiencing, since she can’t really verbalize it

For most people with mental health issues, communicating it is something you learn with time (I have bipolar disorder, ADHD, and PTSD), and I'm so glad you have stayed, since these illnesses do kill people, and isolation is not good ❤️ I hope your sister finds the help that she needs ❤️ also, remember that you can help get her help (or at least try to), but it's not your job to save her ❤️ that's something only she can do, and carrying that weight can break anyone, so don't put that on yourself, and can also contribute to the person not getting the help they need ❤️ I wish you both the best❤️

@@Mimi-jl5ci retired veterinarian here, never heard of it, but brain tumours can cause behaviours that are completely out of character, also heavy metal poisoning, parasites, toxaemia, end stage liver disease, that appear delusional, as they do in people. As with people it's good to rule out diseases first. Once I thought a dog was acting possessed, which it had been for 4 years, no other signs. We saw it trying to pull its leg off. We tried pain killers and it fixed it.

My best friend/little brother has paranoid schizophrenia and was diagnosed a few years ago.
It’s such a misunderstood thing. People always assume someone with schizophrenia is a psychopath or a dangerous criminal, when in reality he’s one of the smartest, most sweetest kids I know. Even I look up to him sometimes.
I think people need to learn to be more open minded and hear other people’s stories before judging. Sure, sometimes when he tells me his delusions or his paranoia thoughts they worry me, but that doesn’t mean he’s harmful and that goes for everyone.
Never make someone feel bad for their struggles.

For anyone who doesn't know (I didn't a while ago):

I agree, my aunt has schizophrenia and she was telling us that the birds had cameras on themselves to film her and spy on her. She told us that someone comes into her room from the window and sprays poison around to poison her.
And she claims that my uncle poisoned her water. It always happened when she didnt take her medicine. She thinks she doesn't need the medicine and that the doctor wants to poison her aswell. I cant count how many cases happened, thats the reason why everyone in my family distanced themselves from her for safety. I actually had another aunt with schizophrenia, but unfortunately she died after she threw herself from the window. My family suspects that this disease runs in our family. All this happened after her husband cheated on her. That was a small trigger that caused her trauma and schizophrenia. We tried to help but she didnt want to, she didnt trust us.

I had something hit me when I was a paramedic many years ago. I was thinking, “you know Scott. How do you actually know these people are in contact with a place, we have no knowledge of, but they do?… are we the ones that are not hearing things when we should be?” that hit my head. I changed my attitude towards the treatment of my psychiatric patients 180°.

As someone with depression, its good to know that my feeling/thoughts that medications are poison (when im trying to be on them) isnt actually a normal thought. I felt that way about prozac and venlafaxine and sometimes otcs like advil. I am doing therapy now (no meds for about 8 mos) but if i decide to go back on meds, I will file that symptom under "irrational thinking" if it happens again. So glad you are on meds and have treatment to help you manage!

I have schizophrenia. I wasn’t diagnosed until thirty one but I’ve lived with it since I was a teenager. It’s not the easiest thing to deal with. I suffer from both auditory and visual hallucinations. Until watching this I didn’t know that smells were part of it. I’m constantly smelling things that no one else can smell, and it’s frustrating because sometimes they are so real to me I feel like the people around me are messing with me by saying they smell nothing. My brother is schizophrenic and when he was first diagnosed and really showing his symptoms it was like I lost him. He’d forget we’d literally just spoken while he’s stood in front of me seconds after the conversation. It took a while, some impatient help and two types of anti psychotics and I have him back. He’s consistent and his lovely self again. When he first was hospitalised when he’d call we wouldn’t know what mood he’d be in or how the conversation would go. I’d be tag teaming with my mum quickly informing each other of his temperament. Sending love to you and yours
He’s having some lul affects from his meds not feeling quite right. Currently lost motivation to get up and work out etc. Hope I can get him going again because he really thrives and loves moving and exercising

@hopewillfindaway9062 I don't think this is very helpful. I do believe it can happen. But even Jesus himself said some require prayer and fasting. It's not always so black and white. On the other hand, I do believe some things are due to genetic issues. Things out of our control. In this case, it is like Paul who said he must bear the "thorn in his side". Many speculate it was a speech problem. Whatever it was God did not heal him of it. But through Paul's weakness God made him stronger to deal with it. So no, this isn't cut and dry. For instance when I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis months after giving birth to my first child, God told me healed me through this illness. I knew instantly he meant issues in my heart and life. Since that day God has never let me down and carried me through every dark day. So no, not everything is demonic and not belief alone cannot purge such things.

God healed me from depression, anxiety, epilepsy, suicidal tendencies, hearing voices, and much more! Unfortunately for my daughter, she is not a believer. So I pray that God guides her doctors. It helped explain that 'positive' does not automatically mean good or enjoyable (although sometime some symptoms might be, in some instances for some people).

Thank you for sharing, I have schizophrenia myself, the medication let the symptoms stop totally and I am alloud to live a normal live without medication and work. The way you speak lets me know you are still on the path. When I was medicated, I couldn't fulfill a whole sentence anymore, that made me reduce the medication down to zero slowly. I was so slow. Thanks god all my symptoms are gone now totally. The stress to feel and hear everybody you know and you see is so overwhelming.

I’m VERY proud of this young woman. I’m an advocate for mental health and treatment for certain conditions. This is what we need the most.

I can only imagine how horrible schizophrenia must be - a hell. I'm amazed that you are able to deal and even make such polished content.
