It amazes me that invading women's rights is an issue again in this country. What is the appeal that republicans have in taking away the rights of women and others would go along with it? Who are these people, really?

If a woman is raped, becomes pregnant, and decides to have an abortion it is not the tax payers' responsibility to pay for it. The victim should file charges against the rapist, and he should pay for it and do time in jail. Another option would be that all women should carry guns in order to protect themselves against rape.
Women cannot file charges against an unknown assailant, who wasn't polite enough to leave his business card after he finished sexually assaulting her. To say it is a matter for the police shows that you are woefully uninformed, and have been blessed to not know anyone who was raped (though if they had and didn't want to share that traumatic experience with your small and judgmental mind, I could certainly understand). Next: GUNS are your answer?! At what age should little girls be trained in using firearms and be allowed to carry concealed weapons at any and all times, simply because they have a vagina that some bastard might decide they want to stick their dick into? Are all women therefore allowed to discharge a firearm lawfully, when they feel threatened by a potential rapist? Will all women be trained in how to shoot someone who is actively sexually assaulting them, and at one age would you like your daughters to experience a class that simulates a much larger man raping them and how to retrieve they their weapon, remove the safety, fire without hitting innocent bystanders, and not have their attacker simply grab their gun away and shoot them instead? Little girls, children, are also victims of rape. So also are those mentally challenged. Your ever so simple response of carrying a weapon implies that all females, regardless of age, mental capacity, felons or not, should carry firearms and be EXPECTED to use them. Can we also expect that insurance will provide a firearm to each mother who gives birth to a female baby? Your logic isn't simply flawed, it is altogether LACKING. Please cease talking about something you clearly don't know much about, nor have even bothered to give serious consideration to before blathering publicly about your flippant "solution".

There are sadly too many women who, even if they were proficient with a firearm, would not be able to defend themselves during a physical assault because the rapist is just too strong. For someone like me who is small, recovering from a severe spinal injury, is inflexible, kinda slow, and not strong, what good would a gun do me if the guy has a hold of my arms? And if he takes my gun away afterwards, how am I gonna shoot him? Guns are not the answer. There are too many girls and women who cannot lawfully carry a firearm, who work in places where firearms are prohibited, who are unable to operate a firearm (people with broken hands/wrists/arms/missing hands/arms), and who aren't proficient with a firearm and could end up hurting an innocent bystander. I believe that those who are proficient with guns and can lawfully carry them should. But I am not so ignorant to believe that having a gun on your person will deter rapists.

If a woman is raped, becomes pregnant, and decides to have an abortion it is not the tax payers' responsibility to pay for it. The victim should file charges against the rapist, and he should pay for it and do time in jail.

Women cannot file charges against an unknown assailant, who wasn't polite enough to leave his business card after he finished sexually assaulting her. To say it is a matter for the police shows that you are woefully uninformed, and have been blessed to not know anyone who was raped (though if they had and didn't want to share that traumatic experience with your small and judgmental mind, I could certainly understand).

At what age should little girls be trained in using firearms and be allowed to carry concealed weapons at any and all times, simply because they have a vagina that some bastard might decide they want to stick their dick into? Little girls, children, are also victims of rape. So also are those mentally challenged. If a woman is small like me and not considerably strong, her attacker could very easily restrain her from reaching her weapon. 3. He could've drugged her without her knowing or come up behind her and knocked her out. 4. She could've been tied up. 5. Her weapon could've been wrestled away from her. 5. She could've been blind. 6. He could've pulled a gun on her before she reached for her weapon. 7. The woman may not have seen her attacker, therefore unable to even identify him. 8. She may have been physically or mentally disabled, and therefore unable to defend herself or not been sure how to, let alone communicate what he looked like and what the circumstances are or be able to identify him. 9. Do i believe that women should have methods of defense? Yes, absolutely, everything from mace, to martial arts, to knives, to guns. Do I believe that that is going to stop rapes from occurring? Absolutely not. Do I believe that it's going to deter rapists from raping? Not at all. There are sadly too many ways to disarm a woman without even making obvious contact. There are ways to drug her drinks, put a chloroform cloth over her face when she heads away from her group of friends, and even inject her with a sedative. There are sadly too many women who, even if they were proficient with a firearm, would not be able to defend themselves during a physical assault because the rapist is just too strong. For someone like me who is small, recovering from a severe spinal injury, is inflexible, kinda slow, and not strong, what good would a gun do me if the guy has a hold of my arms? And if he takes my gun away afterwards, how am I gonna shoot him?
Guns are not the answer. There are too many girls and women who cannot lawfully carry a firearm, who work in places where firearms are prohibited, who are unable to operate a firearm (people with broken hands/wrists/arms/missing hands/arms), and who aren't proficient with a firearm and could end up hurting an innocent bystander. I believe that those who are proficient with guns and can lawfully carry them should. But I am not so ignorant to believe that having a gun on your person will deter rapists.
