First off you did an amazing paint job. I'm a painter and you gave me some good ways to approach The BIG Boss. I personally get more excited knowing this was sculpted by hand and with a lot of love. Digital is the future but traditional art will always have a place in my heart.
Absolutely. I love hand-sculpted things, and there is something special about knowing that there is a physical connection between the person who sculpted this, the person who cast it, and me.
@@MightyJabbasCollection I think it looks great as is, but you could take afew pictures from various angles, and then use photoshop (or something of the like) and apply the color to check it out without committing to more paint.
Beautiful work!!!! Your not hard on yourself.... you have a vision..... somthing a artists strives on.... it keeps the train moving!!!! I've painted alot of props myself. If your savy with a paintbrush.....try pastel chalks for shading. It works just as good or better(on certin materials) than a airbrush.
Fantastic paint job!. It's a pleasure to watch the process with such great results. This was definitely a joy to sculpt and you've taken it to the next level!
From the model itself to the finishing of it this is spectacular. It Looks like it would fit right in with the legends in 3 dimensions line by G.G. I wish I had the skill and patience to paint like this.
Wow, every time I click on your videos I’m so excited to see what you make and this looks amazing keep up the great work! Also thanks for inspiring me to make my own RUclips Channel and getting a 3d printer
Fantastic bust and paint job!! I have every Gentle Giant bust released (in addition to all the gift versions and an extra Max Rebo musical one) and the Rancor bust from Sideshow. Definitely need figure out a way to get one of these to add to my collection.
Strictly speaking, he’s a bit too large to fit with Gentle Giant busts, but I think it would still look good with them. No idea why nobody has ever decided to make a bust like this when we have ones for much more minor characters
Almost looks like it's done in the style of the Legends in 3D 1/2 scale I also have, just with Jabba scaled down to be more in line with the size of the others in that line.
I’m always excited when you upload a new video. I even binge watch them in my free time lol. This bust is incredible and your painting of it was just as incredible. Great video!
What do you think of the palace play set revealed by hasbro? I think it looks alright the design on the arch looks weird and the colors of the throne seem to dark but other than that I think it looks pretty cool. I think Luke massassi’s is still better and more accurate in scale, as well as being half the price for the whole palace
@@MightyJabbasCollection yeah definitely, I’m going to still pick this one up even though I printing the other one, as this one definitely still has its charm. And the first new throne since 2010 is an exciting edition as well
I'm not really great at drawing unfortunately, although I did do this picture of Jabba as an owl: mightyjabba.com/2010/12/01/jabba-the-hoot-by-icruise/
A shame that its not possible to buy the stl file since I got a very nice resin printer. Oh well. Maybe someone else will make a bust stl file. Very paint job by the way
To be clear, there is no STL file for this, since this was entirely an "analog" bust. The original sculpture was done in clay, which was then used to create a mold that this was cast in. But yes it would be nice to have a printable version of something like this.
@@MightyJabbasCollection TY for the answer. Still a very very nice sculpt, regardless of how it was made. And your paint job was also very good, way better than what I could do. But if something like this was available in an STL file, I'd throw money at it so fast that it's not even funny :)
Thanks! But I am really just beginning when it comes to the airbrush. I've seen some amazing stuff from people who paint Warhammer models, for example.
Do you ever get tired of painting jabbas? I think the reason there’s no jabba busts is because jabba’s kind of a awkward shape for a bust; you don’t really know where his neck and shoulders begin and end
His shape is part of it and also he is so large that it is difficult to keep him in scale with other busts that have been released. I don’t really get tired of painting him because he has a lot of variety in his coloration and so forth. I still find it a challenge and rewarding. And frankly there have been so few commercial figures or sculptures that really get his coloration right, so I feel like it’s not something that other people have done to death
I can legitimately hear this man talk about Jabba for hours. The passion and knowledge he has makes it a fun watch.
I love how his passion conveys itself to his audience
I like the Gargole attachments!! Amazing work painting him looks great!!😎👍

Master Modeller Modest thing you! Fantastic Work! Lovely blend between the airbrush and hand painting!
I'm always impressed with your paint skills, but seeing them on a larger scale like this really lets them shine! Well done!
This looks excellent! I think painting his underside black would make it even better though
Yeah that was my plan originally, and I might still do it. I was afraid it might be a little overpowering though
@@MightyJabbasCollection maybe a very dark brown, almost maroon.
Nah for a bust I would leave it like this

Great sculpture, but an equally great job with the paint work. Equals excellent bust of Jabba.
Wow, absolutely nailed that paint job 👏🏽 this looks like a high end collectors bust

been a fan of this channel for a while, its crazy to see how much you've improved!!
You did a really good job with the painting. It looks most impressive.
Try pastel chalks and a soft paintbrush for details the airbrush gives.
Man. I man Jabba man. I am in a huge urge to paint some bust for about a week and now I saw this video. My fate is decided
Btw your painting skills are getting better and better. Great job on the eyes
You always do a amazing job when you Paint.
I love what you do and it's an absolute fantastic subject matter.

Absolutely Gorgeous bust. Great job on the painting.
Exceptional!
For the gloss on the spit....use hot glue(clear) and for the eyes.....2 part epoxy

Jabba the hut is a work of art
Amazing work dude, really inspiring
looking forward to hear your initial impressions on the new TVC palace release.
Well I ordered it if that tells you anything 😁
Nice! Bloody excellent
The sculpt is amazing and you really brought it to life
Ah man I want that bust so bad 😭

Well it was just sculpted as a bust so I doubt that would be a possibility
Just heard about the jabba’s place love letters card game . I wasn’t sure if you heard about it .
Thanks yes it looks interesting!

Looks pretty great at first glance. I haven’t really had a chance to see it in detail
@@MightyJabbasCollection I think the accessories are the best part, but massassi has already got that covered again lol
Massassi's model is hard to beat, but it's not really accessible to most people so this new one is exciting to see

So is your channel dedicated solely to Jabba the Hutt? (I'm new here)
Well that’s kind of the unifying theme but I do various things (mostly Star Wars and 3D printing related)
Who first drew Jabba the Hutt?
Phil Tippet, I assume
Not good with an air brush???? Mate you are a fantastic painter!!

@@MightyJabbasCollection oh those warhammer people are so good I’m not sure they are human! I’d never have that patience and skill
The Son'a or the Jabba's.
How much of your house does your collection take up? Does it drive you wife mad or does she love Jabba too? Lol
It’s mostly confined to my office and basement although things occasionally leak out… I have a very understanding wife
The wife have two options: 1) accept it 2) rancor pit
I don't mean any offense, but it's crazy to me how much talent and skills you've gained from your Jabba obsession.
