Also to prrevent the exodus of Gilas Players in other leagues they should be well compensated. Yes its an honor to play for flag. But we have seen for example Marcus Douthit and AJ Edu got injured. Also Marcus Douthit and Andray Blatche asking when they can play in the PBA. They have sacrificed their bodies for the country that they are not familiar with. Gilas cannot exist without the funding from Manny Pangilinan. Just think how much Coach Tab is being pay for this efforts. From Ateneo giving them numerous championships and he coach Gilas for so many times. Alam natin na sa Amerika ung sahod sa PBA at sa Gilas is maliit. Kasi kung living expenses pa kukulanhin talaga. Kaya karamihan nang mga gilas pool players go to japan and taiwan. Kaya nga sila professional athletes they are earning salary while being an athlete.
