Studying for this at the moment and it's driving me absolutely nuts. Definitely the hardest of the ground school subjects I've experienced so far. Well done on passing this one Dale!
I've got my Nav exam next Friday. It has definitely been the hardest subject so far as after that I only have Flight performance and planning left. I have found that mastering the wiz wheel makes it 100X easier as you don't really need to memorise all the equations. Great video and congrats on passing.
I forgot to add my study statistics like I normally do, so here they are. 12 hours 33 mins material reading / study, 9 hours doing mock tests / exams. So a total of 21 hours and 34 mins of studying for the navigation exam.
Trying to get good pass scores on EasyPPL at the moment. Struggling more with this than any other subject and it’s mainly down to the whizz wheel. Can’t wait to burn it. 😂 I like you have previously used a Pooleys / EasyPPL combo and got 100% in all exams to date but trying EasyPPL only this time. Doing the exam day after tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
Thanks Dale for the information- I’m planning on doing the navigation exam in the next few days … like you I’m also finding the RBI difficult to understand lol Do you remember what questions popped up in your exam 😂
Hopefully the information helps and good luck. The exam was a while ago for me now, so anything I had in terms of questions, issues, etc was in this video I am afraid.
Hi Dale, Thanks for the informative video, I've also used the easy PPL resource but I've found it had lots of flight planning stuff in it e.g. PLOG which doesn't seem to fit in, do you know if any of those were covered in the exam or worth learning as I imagine they're covered in the flight planning exam
To be honest I can't 100% remember, but what I can tell you the Easy PPL mock exams are very close to the real exams. So what I do is study ALL the material, then do the end test final exam, and keep redoing and brushing up on the areas I got wrong. Nav exam is odd in my opinion, as not alot of Nav in it.
I'm ready to take my air law and operational procedures exam. In the mean time i'm studying for the navigational exam and im struggling with it. I guess practise will make me better but eughhh
I have used the old Pooleys books, but my main resource to help me pass the exams has been EasyPPL. Pass PPL Ground School with Easy PPL (use dalepearson in referrer box) www.easypplgroundschool.com/register.php

Hi, you mentioned in the video about using a wizz wheel video. Have you got a link to that? Cheers
Sure - vimeo.com/322738877

The Nav exam has alot of calculations to remember and not alot of actual navigating. Its certainly one of the more challenging ones.
Bro congratulations. Could you kindly tell us which database have you used to study navigation PpL?

Thank you brother. Yes I am aware of easy ground school. I really find that database helpful. Thanks for again 🙏🏼
Are you allowed to bring a map into the exam if you want to? Even if you don’t need it
Not for the Navigation exam no.
