Thanks for documenting your ride. This was my first hh100 ride. Was a mild ride if I believe the old timers and their tales about the heat in years past. Squeaked by hell's gate before it closed early. I think my knee is almost healed up by now.
Thanks for watching the video. The weather was somewhat mild but the best part was the wind was not so strong. Glad your knee powered you through the 100 miles. Come back next year!
Congratulations. The weather was friendly. You are welcome. I try to post video the same day. My hotel wifi was a little slow to upload the video taking about an hour.
Awesome! Did you do it this year 2023? I just got back home to San Antonio, Tx. From Wichita Falls yesterday. Completed the 50. Great event and had an awesome time. Will be back next year!
I'll be volunteering at packing handout Thursday night trade show when you come and get your package holler at me I would like to meet you all of your videos are very inspiring.
@@RickAnkrum Friday's I'm over there with the mountain bike and Friday evenings I'm usually back in the registration area for the gravel rides on Saturday night. /at packet handout. have a good ride.
Friday evening the kids I think they start at 5:00 over on the mountain bike trail then I'm usually back over on Friday evenings for spaghetti dinner and registrations are packet pickup I kind of just mixed around on those days then I ride on Saturday with the special Olympics we do the 25 Miles
Everything. Everyone was just so friendly and happy to have everyone in town from what we could see. Lots of shout outs from the locals saying have a great rides, safe rides. Just lot’s of friendly folks everywhere we went and at the rest stops. We rode the 100. Next time i might want to ride Shepard base. Are you coming down to Corpus Christi next week for our Conquer the Coast ride??
Did this ride 100k. I had two biking incidences Thankfully some really nice cyclists helped me on both occasions. That because of the setback and put me a few hours behind schedule you can see me in 1:24 talking with my mom and again at 9:08. Several of us had hit some very thin wire that had punctured our tires. The one dude that was helping me I think had something wrong with his chain. it jumped the track but he was able to get it back into place.
Sorry you had the incidences. I saw numerous helpful cyclists assisting along the route. Thank you for watching and commenting. Hope your next ride goes better. I'm not sure I see the right person at the 1:24 point.
That was a well done video.
Thanks.

I did HTH in 2003 or 2004 and the high was 85° that year!
I remember riding the HH100 with temperature that but I wasn't sure of the year.
well as a cyclist also in our side of the country 🇵🇭 that kind of heat is just a fine breeze of morning..!

I would be gasping for air like a fish out of water if I was in that heat that long 🤣🥵🤣♥️
And this year was cool compared to previous years.

I hope you can make the ride next year. Be sure you make accommodations early

@@ronaldbeasley4945 Those are some of the reasons I keep going back each year. Sadly I will not make it to the Conquer the Coast ride.
I did this ride in 2018. That chip road out there will rattle your teeth out.
