Grab a cuppa coffee & grab your iPads, let’s create!! Anyone else using Fresco? Drop a comment and let me know what you’d like to see in future videos! ❤
OMG, I can't believe this. I discovered (and subscribed) to this channel yesterday and immediately started hoping for a video like this and low and behold it gets posted the NEXT DAY! Looking forward to the Fresco vs ProCreate comparison video too as I use ProCreate.
You are such a great teacher! And I learned a ton from this video. I’m brand new to Fresco and you broke the steps down so effortlessly and it was super easy to follow along. You made this less intimidating for me lol so thank you !! ✨✨✨
Thank you for a great video ❤ the only thing i cannot find in Adobe Fresco is a lasso fill tool , which i find kind of an essential drawing tool. Any alternative solution ? Or could it be something they would add ?
Thanks so much!! ❤️ How I lasso fill in fresco is I use the lasso tool to make my selection, then I select the paint bucket and fill my lasso selection with my color of choice. See if that will work for your use case and workflow!
Well.... This makes me want to take the plunge and investigate Fresco. I watched another video a month back that discussed the differences of Procreate and Fresco and decided NOT to follow the 'shiny new thing' path of Fresco and stick with Procreate. But, your video is so informative and makes me want to to give Fresco a try. I already use Photoshop and Illustrator for tidying up my watercolor paintings, so it will be nice to have an app that has the same tools that I am used to. Thanks for the video!
I too resisted the urge as I loved the simplicity of procreate, but fresco beats it in every possibly way (in my opinion). I’ll be publishing more videos on Fresco in the coming weeks. There is just so much goodness there, and they are releasing new features constantly!
Oh wow I am sure I will enjoy this a lot. Thanks for sharing your insights! I have been working on procreate but I would like to switch because I love the idea to have all my professional work in the adobe cloud for better sync and further processing.
It is far superior (IMO) than procreate! I love simple programs, which drew me to procreate. The reality is Fresco, though more capable, is equally as simple to get the hang of. Plus the added benefits of connecting to Adobe CC is unparalleled. I’m looking forward to doing more Fresco videos (that are not an hour long. Haha) 😂
Thank you for the AWESOME demo. I have had Fresco for a while now but never really used it. That is about to change!! Isn't there a way to bring an image into Fresco and make the image look like a painting with the brushes?
I’ve never tried this, but I have to image it’s possible! Sounds pretty awesome. To achieve this, the steps I would take would be: import the photo into fresco, trace over the photo with live brushes (oil or watercolor) to give it a unique, painterly like effect.
Super helpful, thank you so much for sharing ❤ It took me a while to find an easy video and I’m glad I found you Ginny. I would like to learn more about the layers I am struggling with it.I’m a beginner and all the information helps.Maybe you do have a video how to work/create multiple layers and gather in one? I know you have explained a bit in this video but i must do something incorrect as it is not happening for me.
Glad it was helpful! If you want to stack your layers into a layer group, select a layer, and “drag” it onto the next layer you are wanting to stack it on top of. You can continue to do this and create what’s called a “layer group”, which act as a collective folder that you can operate as a unit, or if you “double tap” the layer group, you can still work with each layer independently. Hope this was helpful! If you get stuck, shoot me an email!
Hello, thank you for sharing this video, i have a few questions, How change DPI ? and How save a file as PSD? i already choose PSD, but still saved JPG photo. Thank you
Happy to help! You can change PPI by creating a new canvas > then click “print size” and adjusting to your needs. Fresco uses PPI and PPCM. You can change the PPI of a current canvas/ current art work in fresco by clicking the gear icon in the top right. Next to the canvas size (ex: 2000x2000 px) click “change” > then click “print size” and adjust from there. To export a PSD file in fresco, in the top right corner between the person with a + and the gear icon you’ll see a box with an upwards pointed arrow. Click that > then click “publish & export” then click “export as” and select the PSD format from the drop down menu. Hope this answers your questions!
You can play with “taper settings” in vector brushes, and you can play with “stylus pressure” and “control” for your pixel brushes to achieve no taper. Both adjustments can be found under the brush settings menu. For the hard round pixel brush for example, you can go into “Shape Dynamics” > “Control” (default set to “pen pressure”) and turn that setting to “None”. This will give you the same brush start to finish, regardless of how much pressure you apple to the screen. Be sure to save your brush settings once you’ve made adjustments to your liking so you can reuse it in the future. Hope this helps!
It depends on your workflow. If you don’t prefer illustrator, start in fresco and do all the heavy work there, then finish in illustrator. Fresco supports vector so bouncing between the two works seamlessly.
Happy to help! Try this: In fresco, hit the box with the arrow (located in the the upper right corner) > “publish & export” > “Motion” > “gif format” > “generate frames” > “export” > “Save image” Now, you should have a saved gif file in your photos app on your device. Then open IG and upload as needed. If you have any issues, shoot me an email!
Check the smoothing settings on the brushes. If it’s turned all the way up, it appears there’s a delay. If the smoothing is down, it’s immediate. I’ve found its more so a feature, not a bug. Hope this helps!

You are so welcome! It’s a great program that doesn’t get enough praise for its capabilities. Enjoy!
The most helpful video for starting with fresco!
So glad it was helpful! Thank you for the helpful feedback
Thanks for a great video. A big help to me as I transfer from Procreate to Fresco.
You’re welcome, Peggy! Thanks for watching!
this helped. Seeing motion definitely helped. Knowing how to use paint inside and paint outside would be helpful.
Glad it helped! I’ll work on those suggestions for a future video!

Thank you so much! This video was so incredibly helpful!!!
Rad!! Thank you for the sweet compliment and I’m happy it was helpful! Fresco is awesome!
So much info, great video! It would be helpful if your arrow was more visible, it’s hard to see as you move around to point to things.
Thank you for watching and I appreciate and value your constructive criticism! Very helpful tip for me for future videos. Sorry about that!

Thank you for this video!🙏
My pleasure! Fresco is an awesome program
Is there a way to make a brush not taper? If I wanted a brush that is a consistent size all the time.
You can play with “taper settings” in vector brushes, and you can play with “stylus pressure” and “control” for your pixel brushes to achieve no taper. Both adjustments can be found under the brush settings menu.

Pls I want to ask am a graphic designer do you think fresco is a good replacement for illustrator
It depends on your workflow. If you don’t prefer illustrator, start in fresco and do all the heavy work there, then finish in illustrator. Fresco supports vector so bouncing between the two works seamlessly.
Yes please
😊
The motion isn’t happening when I export as a .gif then try to publish on Instagram. Tips?

Wait... Fresco is 10.00 a YEAR, but procreate is 10.00 for life! Then Procreate is cheaper.
It is free. But yes like she said you can upgrade. And $10 a year is nothing. It's a Starbucks coffee..... I love fresco!
Free now … 100%
Thank you a lottttt ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
My pleasure! Happy you found it helpful ❤️
Excuse me... What version of Adobe Fresco that you used for this review? 4.7 or 5.0 ?
I’m not certain. I do try to keep everything auto updated but I couldn’t tell you the exact version at the time of this video
The cost for fresco is that €9.99 a month or for a year.
Adobe offers many options, but the specific reference I was making here is that Fresco for the iPad is available for $9.99 per year on the ipad.
The delay only shows in vector brushes...from what I noticed...
Check the smoothing settings on the brushes. If it’s turned all the way up, it appears there’s a delay. If the smoothing is down, it’s immediate. I’ve found its more so a feature, not a bug. Hope this helps!
I like her
