Hey Leland. Today I was down in my shop at home working on a project and put in a James Taylor CD. Your bass part on Carolina in My Mind just stood out to me for some reason. Good job buddy. Still listening to these classic hits that I grew up with in the 60's & 70's.
I'm a Lucky Fellow I have been Friends with my two favorite musicians, both for approx. fifty years. Lee Michaels, who has a podcast and Terry Haggerty from The Sons of Champlin. I met them both organically. Marin County in the late 60s and 70s was Too Much Fun . Mill Valley in particular was a Reservation for Rock Stars. My Woman Friend Michelle was working at Prune Music and Prune had The Great Techs working There. The days before personal assistants. so many Folks cycled thru The Store. It was a Rich Highly Creative Period. And those of us who were not players were a Fun Well Educated Lot contributing as we Could. Anyway that's my relationshipt to all of This ....... Thanks for Your time Lee. Bruce S.
V Sanson was extremely popular in the Province of Québec as early as 1972 with ''Amoureuse''. A few great singers from France never hesitated to mix the best session musicians from France,U.K., U.S.A, even Québec. A few names: Claude Nougaro, Michel Jonazs, Johnny Halliday..
Veronique Sanson is certainly an intricate songwriter with a penchant for odd time surprises. Great Band with strong Bass Parts. I’ll take this time to wish you, yours and all the Sklarites a very merry, healthy and safe Holiday Season.
Dear Leland, I'm so happy that you play one of my favourite albums as I wrote yesterday ! I listened to it today and sang all day !😀 Zenith 93 brings me so much joy and energy ! For those who don't speak french, try Bernard's song...so powerful ! One of my few favourite songs, to face bad situations... So happy to see Véro coming back after some "bad years". She's still so powerful in her voice, her playing... Thanks for this pre-christmas present Dear Leland 🙏🏻
Again, Vero visits are wonderful. The audience energy must have been awesome. The tonal(hope that's the right word) quality of her piano work is amazing. Did you and she ever talk about what pianists influenced her? Love and Thanks ❤👍❤👍
A literature scan speaks to Veronique Sanson beginning piano at the age of 4 with lessons from her Father. ✨️ It also appears that Veronique Sanson favors Dominant 7th progressions. 🎵 😊
@slipperynoodle20 Hmm. . .I think that structurally the Dominant 7ths can heighten tension keeping the music engaging. . . Confer such tunes as 'Something', The Beatles. . .'Purple Haze', Jimi Hendrix. . . with respect to the 'style' of Veronique Sanson the mix of a Cabaret genre with the Modern popular Chanson genre becomes interpretative and powerful. . . and resonates with Edith Piaf as well as others.
@kateconway-hickman5945 Lol, I'm doing homework now. Chanson genre is basically songs filtered through French sensibility. Now, I'm going through explanations of Dominant 7th progressions from Rick Beato. That will take a bit more time. Thanks!
A very ⚜️🎄 to all! She sounds great!!! Finally googled her and she was also exceedingly 🌶️. Cannot remember if you had said she did film and tv work as well, but would expect that. Would also expect that she would have been 🌶️ in the francophone music market in Canada. Did y'all tour there?
It turns out she does have an imdb, but it may be for sound track rather than acting. Nonetheless, It includes "My Donkey, My Lover, and I.". The mention of livestock has inspired me to post a RUclips of the new and reigning rock star in our house: CVS Yule Goat. 🐐
Leland's beard and hair are so long, I’m starting to wonder if he's secretly a wizard who’s been alive for centuries-either that, or he's trying to single-handedly bring back the "grandfather-chic" trend. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if he started using his beard as a third arm or a secret storage compartment for snacks. It's honestly impressive how much wisdom (and hair) he’s accumulated over the years!
But it's a good way to do journaling. You just run it through a cell change reader and it pretty much describes everything that you've been through for the last 10 years.
If you press the 3 dots on the right it will allow you to edit comments, although it will sometimes say "edited" afterwards. You may already know that, it took me years to know that you could do that....
😯😯. Not surprisingly, seeing your peeps (in multiples) on the Kennedy Center Honors. Our reception is so bad that we will be watching it later on RUclips though.😁😁
Awesome to see you, Lee! When is the next clubhouse? I’m off work for two weeks so hoping it’s the first Wed of January, so hoping I can swing it (cant swing it with my current work schedule sadly).
Hi Lee!! I have an idea about how I might be able to help you track these books once you've dropped them off at your post office in Pasadena. I tried to explain it in comments for your Wright I think it was posting. I'd be pleased to talk to you about it when and if you have a chance. Bob Love
My mistake was not getting them scanned when dropped off. Then there would be evidence that they are in the system. But when hauling 70-80 books in it is a serious ordeal.
Well if you think having someone following where they are and having maybe a contact person at each location would help I'll be happy to see what I can do. I'd be pleased to help you out Lee knowing how much you have on your plate!!!! B Love
"Seras-tu là" [ "Will you be there" ] was on the setlist of that show. A heart-wrenching rendition.
Cool
Thank you😊
Thank you Lee, for gifting me Vero this season.
Have a good Christmas Leland, and all viewers of this channel.

The fill that Neal plays towards the end of Bernard’s song is SO great!
Blessings to All.

@kateconway-hickman5945 So, she started piano close to the same age as Lee. The rest is Greek to this non musicion. Thanks!

Wow, what a night!!! It turns out I have something in common with Arturo Sandoval! Hint: it's not a gift for jazz. 🤔🚛
Good luck with Romeo Lee🙏 we just lost our beloved 13 year old cat boo boo with kidney disease we miss him terribly
So Sorry for Your Loss. Kindly accept my Deepest Sympathies and condolences. 🕯 🌹

I know it's your own beautiful music but do you ever get copyright struck on RUclips?
Do you ever play synths or are you totally post keyboard?
Sera’s tu la. Oui toujours
