This is quite accurate, I gotta agree. Art seems like an easy subject until you realize how absolutely draining it is. Plus many people don't know that we can't just sit and paint with the canvas on a desk like in primary school. We stand there, sometimes for hours at a time, 3 hours of painting, 3 hours of sculpture classes, 3 hours of drawing every week, plus all the usual subjects. This is a subject so hard emotionally and physically, and yet has little job possibilities unless you start your own business and actually get lucky with it
at my scool you can chose between focussing on math, economics or art. I transferred to this scool specifically for the art stuff and barely got in since the class was pretty much full. the majority of my classmates picked art because it seemed easy, but I think they are slowly realizing they messed up lol we get what feels like whole books of art history and theory we have to memorize, an art assignment each class, presentations and soon tests, basically we have to draw/paint something in a specific time frame and that gets graded (she can't grade homework assignments since in the past students got friends to do it for them and they actually couldn't draw at all) it's not easy at all
@@VanillaSkyy18 they're also hard, I know. One of my chosen high school classes was math and physics, but even though I got accepted, I chose art. It's as hard as stem, you also learn a lot, and you also have to have an extended subject of history of art, which is basically history but focused so much on details, dates, architecture types of paintings, everything. Art is very good job to have, I agree. Art is very very VERY useful: painting, crafting, architecture, animation, 3D modeling, sculpting, and more. You should also pick other classes besides art because learning multiple things will make you skilled in lots of fields. People always think any job besides medicine, law, business or STEM is automatically useless
I’m actually trying to enter a japanese art school. These days digital is the best way to do stuff. Also if you’re good with your fundamentals you probably gonna get a job of either storyboarding or illustration work. Thank god for clip studio.
