I remembered back in the day, local policemen sometimes come to your house/business because they want something from you. Don't know if that's happening for small businesses or well off citizens in Vietnam. I'm already stressful just thinking about these things in Vietnam.

If you are a resident of Dubai, you can use your Emirates ID to clear immigration through their automated immigration checkpoint (just 10-15 seconds processint time) along with your Boarding pass and a finger biometric scan. No need for showing passport to any immigration officer. Resulting in faster immigration procedure anr avoiding long immigration ques. If the same can roll out for VN, that would be great 👏 I think it will start this year for all major Int Airports in VN.

I think it would be more beneficial for Vietnam to offer something like a 5 years retirement visa. Most refugees do not have paperwork for proof of nationality, only migrants do. MY wife is a refugee, who left Vietnam in 1979. She has been back to her hometown and trying to track down her birth certificate but the hospital and the local ministry just point fingers at each other, seems they lost the record. We're looking to retire in Vietnam in the next few years but currently very difficult.

This system also exists in Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Etc. it's extremely easy to get a Taiwanese (Republic of China) passport but it's very difficult to get a family book and even people working there for decades have been unable to obtain one. This is because Asian countries view citizenship and nationality as distinct things.

Currently Tan SON NHAT is building a third terminal again that will take years and by then Long Thanh will be finished.
Really not sure what they use for brains They should have started the new airport years ago and build it to its full design capability.
Long Thanh has a lot of space and the design is for it to be like a regional hub like BKK or Hong Kong but they just plan to build it for international flights and keep Tan Son Nhat for domestic flights.
So you can see international travellers arriving and transferring to say a flight to Nha Trang will have to take 2 hour bus ride to get to the other airport .
Long Thanh should have been built long ago it has be planned and use it for both domestic and international flights and then shut down Tan Son Nhat and sell off the land to developers to build homes
