Homemade Peach Simple Syrup
Making your own Homemade Peach Simple Syrup with fresh peaches is an easy and such a delicious flavor to add to iced tea.
I really am not a peach person but every year during peach season I get a craving to eat a fresh peach.
Thank goodness I live in the Peach State AND that a peach orchard is minutes away from my house. I love this place, they not only grow peaches but they have the most beautiful old pecan trees that produce tons of nuts every year. They also harvest various other fruits like strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries but their claim to fame is their peaches and pecans.
Use Fresh Georgia Peaches in Recipes
Occasionally, I will be there when they are actually packing the peaches and you can watch the process. Last year I took a tour of the plant and all of the fields with my wonderful friend, Debbie and came back with tons of peaches which some turned into a upside down peach cake. Another visit resulted in these grilled peaches with blueberry syrup and this easy to make peach salsa.
This trip I took my daughter, Valerie, with me and wandered around the store and eventually found our way to eating a wonderful lunch there with their peach iced tea. Before we left, I bought plenty of fresh peaches to enjoy.
How to Make Homemade Peach Simple Syrup
Of course, I sliced up the peaches we weren’t going to eat and froze them for later uses in the peach simple syrup and for baking, etc. I followed this method for freezing them because, honestly, I don’t have to time to do the blanching method and this works great!
The simple syrup is super easy to make and don’t throw out the peaches when you are done straining the syrup! Freeze them and use them later by heating them up and pouring over ice cream, pancakes, or waffles! Delicious!
