Seeing Se7en in IMAX with Laser GT on the UK’s widest screen on Friday. Cant wait! Then I shall be rewatching it at home a total of five times whilst listening to each of the audio commentaries! 😎
Too bad they didn't pour over some of the extras from the Criterion Laserdisc edition, specifically the sample of blooper retakes between Morgan and Brad in the autopsy room. I kept my Criterion Laserdisc as a collectible. Maybe Criterion will release it in 4k bluray some day. Hoping.
Seems like a very small minority of films actually are mixed for Atmos, and much fewer use it well. I love 5.1 DTS and the original soundtrack is awesome.
yeah i find ultimately it how the sound engineers producers mixed the sound .... Atmos isn't improved sound quality, it a new format yeah though I heard 5.1 and 7.1 films that are better.
This is my first time buying Seven on any physical format, so for me, it's a very nice edition! But I can see how owning previous versions can bring down one's opinion of this release.
It an old film fr9m 90s so For 5.1 mixs i find it better to upmix to 3D Auro or DTS X Neutral however it depends if u actually got a dynamic sound mix. Many times Atmos heights only used for Cricket sounds and some breezy stuff. 3D Auro really opens the sound stage making it HUGE
Call customer service. This same thing happens to me all the time, especially when it's been over a month for the pre-order. I called them with the Riddick 4k a week after the release date, and they said because I pre-ordered it months in advance that it got put on hold and they just took it off hold and I got it 3 days later.
@sethm.woodiwiss786 I just got off the chat with them. They said there's been an "unexpected delay in the shipping" and that the best they could do is submit a ticket to the shipping dept. expediting the dispatch of the disc, usually with 24-48 hours. That's all I could get from them... Hopefully it shows up sooner rather than later.
Movie purist reporting for duty. Sure, I am curious about the 4K version and hope to watch it once. But for the copy in my collection that will receive repeat viewings I'm sticking with the blu-ray, warts and all, which clearly is closer to the original movie. Meanwhile I will be happy to forward you a link to the colorized Casablanca, since I'm certain you would consider that an upgrade.
Watched this last night. No issues with the picture since AI and enhancements are generally benign. But the loss of audio channels on the sound mix really is noticeable. Granted the 5.1 mix is supposedly based on the theatrical mix, but the downgrade from 7.1 from the BD release is noticeable IMO

Mine is coming in the mail today. Really excited for it
Glad to hear the transfer is good - I picked up the steelbook but havent watched yet!
Great review. Very tempting, but I've splurged way too much over the last two months. So many great releases of my favourite films😅

Bloopers? Really? Yeah I liked bloopers when I was in my teens.
@@ronthorn3wow you’re so cool 😂

Great movie. My 4K steel book digital copy redeemed in HDX, not in 4K. Anybody else?
Ordered from amazon still waiting on it to freaking ship
Same here. Mine still hasn't shipped and now the item listing says "usually ships in 1 to 2 months". I'm getting worried.

Exactly i got the 7.1 why buy it just for the 4k only, i have 9.4.6 I'll stick to the 7.1 until the next upgrades thks
I heard the 7.1 had a sound level issue at the „what’s in the box” scene. Can anyone confirm?
The original theatrical mix was 5.1 DTS and that's what Fincher wanted to go back to as the 7.1 was an artificial upmix and not accurate.
😂😂😂😂
🤔🤣
Love your channel, but it breaks my heart every time I see that comic sans font when you list them specs.
Font breaks your heart?
I'm a graphic designer so I get it lol@@Jrizzle7426

That’s sad to hear. Less surround immersion is disappointing. Now, I have to decide between picture quality or sound quality. 😔
It's what Fincher and the sound designer wanted.
@@Boyer316yeah Ok though I prefer more surround immersion 😂.
