Your job is the block for the running back, that’s currently on the team and under contract. That’s it. There’s a phrase, that you and your Steelers buddies liked to use. That phrase was “NEXT MAN UP.” Put simply, your responsibility is to do your job, shut up, and get paid, and then go home. If you don’t like that, then go find another job.

Bell wasn’t even under contract at the time during his holdout. HE HAD NO OBLIGATION TO THE STEELERS FROM A BUSINESS STANDPOINT TO BE THERE. The Steelers and all other NFL teams are known as being hardliners when it comes to money and they use the term “business” to justify that unethical hard line stance. The Steelers got a taste of their own medicine. The best part was that Bell was ethical and did nothing wrong.
