I have one Sam! It’s called DICFEOS HEADBAND MAGNIFIER . Purchased at Amazon about a year ago for $16 I like very much when I write checks, or just need hands free, the lenses go from 1.0 to 3.5. They have upgraded the shape of the lenses to fit better over the nose. Thanks Sam for another great video!
Thanks for the link to similar products. I work with people who have macular degeneration and these headband magnifiers with lights can work well for some of them. Great for art and crafts.
There are a lot of variants for this type of headgear. I grew up watching my mom wear them while working on sewing or beading. They’re really for crafters but can be useful for low vision. Unfortunately I don’t get much use from them but my mom now uses them all the time as she gets older and her vision fails
Back when I was a storekeeper at the Idaho Commission for the blind we had something similar but without the light. My vision is such that I need a lot of light to see so the ones we carried didn't help me, but some clients lived them! I now wear bioptic glasses and they are life changing!
I actually have one of those that I use for diamond painting :) it’s a bit awkward to wear at first but it does the job and leaves my hands free to do my crafting
Thanks for sharing this Sam! I still have enough central vision in one eye to read, but sometimes need magnification. I will definitely be getting this.
Weird but practical for some. I don’t think it will work for me. In some ways old school technology can help others. Thank you for another wonderful video
Thanks Sam for sharing! This device probably would be very affordable for a lot of people compared to the newest devices out there. And it’s just a simple device. I might even try it out myself. Right now I use a Cheap dollar store magnifying glasses when using the cell phone or a computer.
Sam you always come up with some very unique and innovative products. Always very good watching your videos. Hey, by the way it might be interesting if you added a reverse image of yourself standing there with the cane and looking to the right, put one on the left side of the screen with you looking left holding a cane. Just a thought anyway have a great day
Hey Sam. Wow! I remember when I went to lighthouse in Orlando Florida, they had something similar to this. But I don’t remember the name myself either. It definitely is a pre-tech device before The east side or new eyes or other wearable technology have today.
That’s so cool, you belong to the bluegrass Council. I’m a member of American Council of the Blind and Minnesota. That’s really cool. You guys down in Kentucky, have a lot of chapters in your state. I saw comment, about what this might be something that they sell in craft stores. I remember seeing the old Jordi head mounted device before I lost my vision. I thought it was pretty cool for the time. E sight came after I lost my vision unfortunately.
@@西北王海生 what I mean is for generally watching a TV my TV is 60 inches so it’s pretty big anyway but some thing you can sit comfortably in a chair and increase the size of the screen you are looking at or bring you closer to it. Technology is very clever. Unfortunately some of the technology is so ridiculously expensive it will never reach some of the people that need it. Are use an iPad Pro which as you know cost over 1000 pounds but it is a godsend for me. Kindest regards MARTIN

I guess this device “lens” itself to improving reading. (OK that’s a stretch I know). It reminds me of the apparatus that a watcb repairman uses. I actually tried on a watch repairman visor but still have to hold stuff too close. And he couldn’t repair my watch to boot 😳

Thanks for sharing this Sam! It's pretty cool to get an upclose look at products like this. I had no idea any such device existed.
They sell these at craft stores for threading needles and doing fine stitches

All right, now I'm curious, I'm going to Google what "diamond painting" is!
I have a single magnification lens that I can clip onto my glasses frame that works the same way - hands free help for when I'm hand-sewing.
I will definitely be looking forward to knowing the name of this item! Thanks again Sam! You rock
My first thought is fingerprints on lens would drive me crazy.
Not sure if it would help me with Stargardts but looks ok. Keep up the good work Sam x

Yes, it reminds me of the old Jordy! You're right, we have three chapters here in KY
Those were used for soldering :)
My dad used to own a pair like those.
Hi Sam.
Where can I find the name of this product on RUclips
Hi Thanks for sharing.
I’m gonna lose those slides, I know it 🤣
Wow. That's something. It looks like a very cheap oldschool knockoff of the jordy.
