I bought a Cozmo back when Anki was still around, and I still love him to this day, even though he’s just been sitting on my windowsill for a year or so. 😅 A year or so after (or maybe before I adopted Cozmo) I saw a commercial for a cute robot named Dash, who was meant to teach kids how to code. And, yes! I have Dash as well! He is for the most part just built for coding and only a few mods, but he’s still a cutie! He’s very similar to Loona, but more like a Proto-Loona, as he can only move his head, and drive his front wheels. He does have lights, and buttons and a big eye on his face, but no screen. Loona feels like if you took the essence of Cozmo, fused it with Dash, and even add a bit of Jibo, or that Segway robot Loomo, and go all in with the cute house pet vibes!!! Cozmo and Dash are great! But Loona just speaks to me in a way those robots just…kinda lack in my opinion. Not saying they’re bad, just that Loona is superior in various ways compared to them. But that being said, I think Loona, Cozmo and Dash all have their own advantages and disadvantages. Cozmo is a great little desk pal, Dash is cute and can teach coding to kids, and Loona (from what I’ve seen) is just an all around fun little pet! Dash is great because he’s actually RC car sized so you can play with him in larger areas! Cozmo is fun because he has a ton of personality and feels like the real life equivalent to WALL-E! Loona is the heavenly combination of both of those traits AND MORE!!! A fun personality driven robot that you can actually play with in a large environment!!! In all honesty, once Loona is available for mass retail, or something like that, I’m absolutely adopting her into my home!!! (Gotta clean my room first though!😅)
Loona is almost like one of those animated robot pets in movies and cartoons. She's got a hyperactive personality and she has some of emo's features. I actually see so much potential in this product. I hope the company updates it to where she can talk to you or interact with you more. I love this one!

I wonder if it would be possible to make a robot like this, but with wheels that can rotate, like shopping trolley wheels. I think it would make for a nice hyper active pet if it could suddenly dart side to side etc while still facing you. Does that make sense?
Yes or those wheels that have the multi roller set up I've seen on other robots that allow them to move sideways. But I think the problem is they wouldn't be that fast.

It's possible since a lot of people have mentioned they would like for her to talk. Emo didn't talk at first and then with updates, he did so it's quite possible Loona will too. Guess we'll have to wait and see. 😁
IMPORTANT question can we with the app connect to the camera of the robot! I would buy this to spy home, or see if everything is good with my cat, or something. Also it would be nice if the robot had a patrol feature to detection thief's.. and allow me remote to the robot camera and Control it (drive it) while the robot camera is on... That would be one of my most needed feature. Is that possible already?
Once we get the charging dock, I think we'll be able to remotely control her to drive around the house and look through her camera while we're away. That should be an awesome feature.

After owning a Vector and 2 Pleos, I've discovered that rechargeable batteries only last about 2 years (500 charges), so a £350 robot that only "lives" 2 years is too expensive for me. I'm hoping her battery is easily replaceable.
That I'm not sure about. That always worries me as well. Especially after I had to replace my Emo for battery issues. My Vector is over 4 years old on his original battery and I worry about him. Hopefully Keyi Tech will offer a repair shop to get batteries replaced for Loona in the future.

No she'll interact with you without the app. For now, as far as I can tell, certain games need the app to activate them but I'm hoping we'll be able to just say "Hello Loona" and say to her the game's name to play.

Well we have to consider that so many things we use today is a concern with that. Home security cameras, cell phones, etc. I would think the utmost precautions are taken with these type of things. If it wasn't, they wouldn't be on the market for long.

We won't know until Loona is fully operational with her charging dock that should be coming out in April. I agree with you on Eilik. They're probably my least favorite.

Don't buy it, the home station never works, and it needs full attention all the time or it just turns it self off at the weardest places, buy a EMO instead, so much more fun, it can entertain himself, never turn himself off not even at the homestation and the homestation works 100% I regret it soo much I bought a loona, the homestation is an expensive piece of junk, only good for the wastebasket, and when I went to the toilet or something the damn thing turned it self off and searching hard to find it. also when you put it at the power or on its charger it turns itself off, app stops working then, wondering why.. should not be.

You'll be able to remotely connect to Loona’s camera once she's officially released. I like that feature as well!
There's another robot now called EBO X, which is more specifically designed for this kind of thing

Cozmo is much smaller than Loona and she can travel through your house.
