  • One of my favorites. There's such a grave sense of dignity to this piece it's hard to imagine it was written by a 15-year-old Scriabin. You might have heard it from Horowitz, I'd recommend Richter and Sofronitsky as well, their very solemn rendition and slower pace suit the piece better imo.

    Somehow I'm not surprised you like Scriabin. Great work. Would love to hear you play sonatas 5, 8, or 10, or perhaps early works by Samuil Feinberg.

      Be sure to check out Sonata-Fantaisie in G# Minor. The very first of his pieces I heard,which similarly to this one is also on the more "conventional" side of his works (as opposed to all of the atonal stuff he created,which is also brilliant)
