Tina Turner was a survivor & worked extremely hard. I saw her in concert, one of the best days of my life. Thankyou Rockn'roll Queen Rip 🙏 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️
For me, I discovered Tina Turner after seeing her image on the front of a compilation cassette from Readers Digest. There was something about the photo of her that made me want to know more. (I was only 14 yrs old). I struggled to find any songs at that time (pre internet and still being a school kid). But I kept the thought in my mind and then of course a few years later she had her massive 2nd solo career and the world went crazy for her. Interesting what she says about the spiritual side, she knew what she wanted, she was clever enough to explore this passion and I'm sure that helped carry her thru the years. I loved the second career she had, I was a bit scared of the rock and roll image at my young age, it looked a bit wild for a young kid but.......I knew I liked the person behind it. This interview confirms that and she has always been true to that side of herself. A very talented, strong, tender and hard working lady..... I'm pleased life was good to her eventually.
Wow!! Just when I thought I've seen it all. Who knew she wanted more kids? And after being with Ike!?? This was indeed a learning experience. Love you to pieces Tina💋❤
I searched a 1977-1978 interview on purpose, to hear about what she had to say about Ike; they got divorced then, after she went through hell, and listening to her say "we're friends - and then we're friends again" makes me feel like despite all the chaos, she couldnever hate him. Tina always knew Ike for who he was, but never hated him, and I think that's why
Nah she said that because she was trying to keep the peace. He was literally threatening her life and stalking her at that time, so she was very careful of what she said in the press not to provoke him any further. The horrid details of that time are in her book, “I, Tina”.
@@freemysticmuseYou should read Ike's book too. It's titled "Takin' Back My Name." He mentioned things that Tina's book omits. He denied that he made any threats during their divorce. If it was proven that he was threatening her life he could've been arrested. There is no legal document of a dispute between Ike and Tina. Even in her divorce petition she didn't mention domestic violence which she could have to get the money and property she wanted from Ike. Tina even made an offer through her lawyer to continue performing with Ike but he refused and wouldn't compromise. That's when she became resentful. When she reinvented herself in the 1980s she also rebranded herself as a battered wife. They had fights which Ike admitted, but the violence in their relationship wasn't as one-sided as Tina portrayed.
@supernova6472 🙄Except in that same book, he admits that one night he loaded a gun and started searching for her. And that if he would have found her that night, he would have killed her. So yeah.
In her book she says she loved him at one point but by the end of it she hated him. She didn't even want to be pregnant by him. She was always trying to keep the peace because she knew how unhinged he was. He admits that he was ready to shoot her in his book.
She was also trying to get work and striking out on her own was hard so bad mouthing Ike would have slowed down work. People wanted to hear they had a Sonny & Cher split (amicable) so that is what she gave them. When in reality years later we found out Cher was also putting on for the cameras and Sonny was not as passive as he seemed on stage. Tina was working hard trying to pay bills and establish herself as a solo act. @@freemysticmuse
They weren´t! Pretending for sure. She was just getting divorced that year 1978, after leaving in 1976. When you see the new Documentary you will see that she did not "come out" and reveal the heavy revelations about her marriage and life with Ike until 1981.
Ike said in his book that during their divorce Tina made an offer for them to continue performing together. She still wanted the divorce, but she was willing to work with him. He foolishly declined. I think the way he made the divorce so difficult is why Tina is still resentful.
