Hey guys!)👋 I just created a page on Buy Me A Coffee) If you like what I do, then you can now support me financially by buying me «coffee»!)))😄 Link: www.buymeacoffee.com/99DIY Many thanks!)
Great job! I'd suggest a momentary contact switch like a doorbell button. It only heats up if you have the button depressed. As soon as you let go, it's off. Less likely to put it down with the power on. Less chance for accidental burns.
How did it all turn out? This cutter probably saved you from a giant mess. Those millions of little foam bits that come off when using a knife or saw are impossible to clean up.
I would also add some led strobe lights to mine and maybe a Bluetooth speaker on the side yeah then It'll be really cool and I could show it off to all my friends. Omg I'm friggin pumped!!! 😬
This is awesome. It will definitely come in handy when making dioramas for toys. You need to add a LED or something to let you know it's on. You can easily forget to turn it off.
@@In_De_Jo I don't claim to invent it like you .. that was a memory recollected of a simple instrument that I did in my schooling for making projects using thermocol... even a small kid knows when you join positive and negative wires it produces heat ... don't take too much pride on what you did and keep insulting others unless you're an asshole
This is perfect for what I need to do today. Need to cut up the stryo packing from a couple of window A/C units to make some custom insulation as it's an old house and the windows are not the dimensions for which their included insulation is designed.
I can see a potential to leave one pole of the cutting wire off the pencil loop. Instead, connect it to a small alligator clip. Then you can punch a hole in the center of the waste area to push the wire throughout, then clip it to the pole... that way you can make custom cuts in the foam. As in silhouette the shape of tools for your tool drawers.
Fun, brings back memories from decades ago, when I was about 10, with a similar toy. We did not have Super batteries from GP back then. I used a model train transformer, adjustable 0 to 12 V, 1 A, DC. If your wire was too thin, or you cranked up the dial too high, the wire would turn red, and melt. It was fun to cut styrofoam, but otherwise pretty useless.

Do you know up to how many degrees Celsius this machine can reach?
I just watched the full video because the cut was so smooth
I watch this video first time, ઘણું બધું સરસ ઉપયોગી લાગ્યું. અઃભાર 🙏
Fun fact: Not a single person among us is going to make a foam cutter, still we are watching it.
Edit: Didn't expect so many likes and comments.
That's fucking true. 😂😂😂
You may jave a point lol
this FOAM is already banned in India.👎
I've made it already 😜
@@bidhanacharya7548 nice 😉
After finally doing this
I realized that I don't have foam
😂😂
lol

I live for comments like this.... 🤣

Great suggestion
👏👏👏👏👏👏
Maybe but it would make tight amd precise cuts. I didnt even know people needed to cut foam
No not really. It will make the cuts sloppy and when you break it down for real time usage the button is pointless.
@@coronalight77 yah its gonna be hard to hold button while making cuts like that
Whew. I cut foam every day for hours. I can't believe I've never seen this video! My life is so much easier now, thank you!
Everyone give this man an applaud 👏 with a like 👍.
Simple easy made my day!

This is genius. When I used to do miniatures this would be great for making g terrain, trenches and buildings. Dope
Simple and effective! Im going to make one. Thank you sir!
You never search for foam cutter, yet you keep watching.
Extremely handy for model builders especially RC foam wings. I would suggest though Hysol glue or thick cyanytrate glue and kicker. Stronger.
Do you know what gauge of nichrome wire is best?
В 1985 году я ходил в авиа модельный кружок. Вот таким же прибором вырезали " лбы" для моделей воздушного боя. Совсем свежее изобретение.
Thats awesome! I wish i wouldve seen this last fall!
my father prepared this tool 20 years back and he used to make objects out of thermacol sheets

I don't have a need for a foam cutter but I want to make one because it looks like a fun gadget to make. Thanks.
I had one of these from fisher technic 40 years ago. You could build a platform and cut round shapes as well. Coolest build was a hovercraft.
okay, that was legit awesome! great vid!
Added to life goals! 👍🏻💯

De mucha ayuda para todo el plumavit que de costumbre termina en la basura... le daré un nuevo uso

This cutter is amazing because before this i cut foam with iron cutter saw and a big knife but this is mind blowing
My work is too easy now thanks
Very nice 😊 thank you for sharing 👍🏻 God bless!
My grandfather made one of these in the 60s out of a toaster. My dad would tell the story all the time.
Bahut badiya majja hi aa gaya bhai maja hi aa gaya 😱😱😱😱😱😱🤯🤯🤯🤯
Goes to show how easy it is to make one exactly. Very good 👍
Wow, that's amazing. Thank you for the good video. Have a great day.
When I saw the use of pencils at the beginning, I thought he was going to employ the graphite in the pencils as conduits for the current.
Will its possible, why he did not do that, for this much of current heat due to resistance will be small as well.
Same here.
Thanks for sharing. I need to make one of these.
Thanks! I need a foam cutter to shape some tombstones for Halloween. This is perfect!

That would work perfect for fitting styrofoam sheets to insulate interior sections of a garage door. Thanks !
My life is nothing without a *Foam Cutter*
