once again, the civil wars bring their unique acoustic talent to bear on an iconic song by an equally iconic artist.

I feel like someone could write a movie based on their story. If we accept, for a moment, that both indeed had feelings for each other, their story is so tragically beautiful. Both married to people they love, and then bam! they meet their soulmate, someone they can connect on a musical, artistic, almost transcendental level. Incredible two years filled with concerts, records, albums, Grammys.. The bond they created has a toll on both of their marriages, resulting in the band's split, a split so dramatic that to this day, after 8 years, neither has really spoken nor about each other neither to each other... Joy had been with her husband 10 years before the CW, yet after her aqquitance with JP, she had two babies with her husband, did couples therapy, and still separated (as of 2019).There is no way their performances were just an act.
The story is not over.. they will realize that their music together was special and will one day re-unite together.
@@aceofspades6667 I'm afraid they are done. Whatever the source of the rift, I don't think JP in particular has any interest in promoting music that I'm not entirely sure he owns 50% of. Once you get past some of their business obstacles, I'm pretty sure Mrs White doesn't mind that this chapter is over. And I'm of the opinion that nothing truly happened despite the rumors. Until proven otherwise, I just don't think these two are that foolish.

Totally agree with your comment. A book, movie or anything about their story would be amazing. What happened?? In both of their solo albums, it seems they are speaking to each other and they both look broken. I wish them both well and think they are both amazingly talented, but it will never be what it was.
Romance is captivating as much for the bystander as for the abductee. I always found it hard to believe Torvil and Dean did not have a thing. They seemed the very essence of love when skating on the ice. They started together in their teens through Olympic gold and well into middle age. When people share a passion so intense it is hard to think it could be anything but love. It is hard to believe a man and woman could be intimate in so many ways to the exclusion of just one. But I think when they have given us the gift of so much beauty, it would be ungrateful not to take them at their word. When they have shared so much, let them keep their secrets.
I don’t think this crowd realized one heck of a set they witnessed!! I have chills every time I listen to this. So much emotion and not to mention voice control!
Their harmonies are magic...her voice is so pure, I love the way they interact with each other. I hope and pray that they can work it out.

Appreciate Haven’s honest comments. I’m sure there are many stories about this love song. The one affecting me is that it was inspired by a brave young woman in the Warsaw ghetto. She sang that never again may her people go down passively. She knew she & her lover would not make it out alive

They did not break up, & they just got another Grammy! It's hard to realize that to them they have toured for years now, & the strain(to say the least) showed in their relationship at the Grammys. We all hope they work out their problems & tour again.
