One of the strangest games ever made. I first heard about this so-bad-it's-good gem from Weird Video Games. Remember that show? That review was absolutely hilarious, and I can't believe that this game exists. Trio the Punch is nothing short of bizarre and absurd, and is worth checking out for a laugh if nothing else. Plus it features Karnov and Col. Sanders!
From the 2004 DECO staff interview: Some fans are aware they Trio the Punch was originally a sugoroku game… could you share some details about that, if you know them? D: The roulette wheel after you clear a stage is a remnant of that idea. C: I don’t believe it started out as a sugoroku game, actually. The original title was “Un” (“Luck”), but that title was rejected. After that the content went through two or three revisions, and it was revised again after the location test. The gameplay kept changing and became something of a jumble. O: I think it was midway through that the subtitle “TV Sugoroku” got added.. D: It’s amazing how much you guys remember.
You actually played this, one of the weirdest (and funniest) games ever made. I'll never get over how every character has their own amazing manly theme song. It's so random, it's beautiful.
About time you played and reviewed this absolutely insane game. It's just a wild ride from beginning to end and I love every minute of it; the gameplay is still as responsive as Bad Dudes!
Here I was, thinking bizarre and nonsensical games were a recent indie games fashion. Boy I was wrong... Never heard of this thing until now. Too bad they didn't tried console ports of it in the 8/16 bit era.
0_o Someone at Data East must've had one hell of a trip to come up with this. And here I thought Parodius was weird. Is this like, a Karnov invasion or something? :V
What the level of hell did this game come from? Bizzare doesn't even begin to describe this creepy pasta, upside down game. What where they thinking? Yet the music that plays on infinite loop; inspires me want to play this game to completion! Wonder when we will get this in the arcade archives line up? Are they done porting games from the 70's to early 80's yet? Those games I can do without; but its games form 1988 and up that get really interesting!
Good news, they have! I heard they altered Colonel Sanders' sprite a bit to avoid a lawsuit but other than that I think it's a pretty faithful port though
Santos/Kamakura/Rosesub: _"Hey, You! Don't Mess With The Turtles!!"_ Karnov: _"Karrrnov Does Not Follow Yourrr Orrrders!! Karrrnov Does WHAT HE WANTS, WHEN HE WANTS!"_
This game is bizarre, and not simply because it has an order of magnitude more Karnov in it than any of the games with Karnov's name in the title. I hope the people who designed it laughed a lot during the process.
It's green so I'm assuming it's meant to be bronze. If that's the case, Tarosu is probably referring to Talos, so tarosu no ashi would mean "Foot of Talos."
Lucky! *CHA CHA CHA*
You figured it out!!!
Bad choice!
So butterflies, dogs and pidgeons are the true enemy
This is the greatest game of All Time.
0:01 Can it really be a Data East arcade game without THAT. ONE. SOUND EFFECT?
How have I never been made aware of this game before!?!? LUCKY CHA CHA CHA!!!

Oh I remember that show it is the only video game reviewer that shows video game we have no idea of
The strangest fact is that game was released as an *arcade* title of all things. A game weird on purpose would rather appear on home consoles.
truly a Win Win for everyone involved
"Dont do that"
"I will anyway"
"classic Karnov..."
You found me out!

Data East was on dust when they came up with this. 😳
Truly an unforgetable game
This originally started as a video board game, and each level was a square on the virtual board, which does explain a bit
Bizarre Data East game, but then again Data East devs were bizarre guys themselves. 😁

Thanks for cheering me up!
This game is trippy. I fell on the floor laughing hysterically.
"YOU FIGURED IT OUT"
No, I really didn't.

It's Red Dawn, Data East style.
This game is crazy! Of course, that works entirely in its favor.
This is art!!
I'll never forget you.
Never forget *DATA EAST*
Awesome game, great job!
Win Win
Nintendo the Complete, I will never forget you.
Best name ever...!
I thought the point of arcade games was to squeeze quarters out of kids. This game looks easy AF! WIN WIN
It's an arcade game made for the sole purpose of fun lol
People in the 80s: "Data East sure made a lot of weird games."
Data East: "Then I took that personal."

What was in my food?
that man in lottery screen reminds me of "muscle man chasing runner" meme
If not for his hat and mustache, he would remind me of Goldberg.
Fantastic video.
I apparently picked the wrong day to start doing acid
YO YO YO
WHEEEE!!!

I don't know what I just watched.
8:17 I wonder what the Tarosunoashi brand on the sandal really is...

@@NintendoComplete Yep. Weird Video Games covered that same detail and came to that same conclusion.
I played this one
Wait a minute, is that Karnov? Lol
😦😮😮
16:33 ?
LUCKY! CHA CHA CHA!
WIN WIN
