Yes, my mom’s - and my - favorite!! This one was my mom’s favorite Neil song & I remember her in her 70’s blue jeans digging this so much! The most important things in life don’t cost a thing. And Coming to America is so good! Also, BEAUTIFUL NOISE, Turn on Your Heart Light (from E.T.) & Holy Holly from the end of Saving Silverman (crazy, hilarious movie with Neil at the end) 😊❤️
It's funny that most of us landed up listing to Neil Diamond because he played loud and proud in our parents homes. For me I was a little kid with a rather eclectic taste in music that had an uncle who insisted someday I would need this. Turns out all these years later i'm sitting here playing all of those albums and reel to reel tapes. I now understand what I didn't know then. Some music touches your heart and some music reaches into your soul, this does both. Thanks Jamel, this is really a fun ride.
You could spend weeks delving into Neil his voice is smooth a hell and in the 70's he was everywhere. You must do his original version of Red Red Wine, Cracklin Rosie, I am I said and for me a pure seminal moment in rock music when he took to the stage with The Band on the Last Waltz concert to sing Dry your Eyes. Seminal because everyone thought of him as easy listening and middle of the road but he proved that he could sit with the best and even steal the show.
Saw him in concert twice and with audience participation I clapped so much I couldn't close my hands in a fist for a couple days. He was amazing !! in concert.
I went to a catholic grade school and nuns taught a few of the classes. In sixth grade, my nun teacher was OBSESSED with Neil Diamond. Like, I had no idea who he was, but she would mention him all the time and say like “who do you think you are, Neil Diamond?!” 😂😂

He was on his 50th Anniversary World Tour. 6 months later the world heard the news that he had to retire from touring due to Parkinson's Disease just 3 days before his 78th birthday in 2018. The man is a class act. Neil's career and song catalog spans 50+ years. The tunes were catchy. His music from the 60's, 70's and 80's are good decades to choose from .. Holy Holly ..
