The Fenix HM65R headlamp features both an independently controlled spotlight and a floodlight for a combined maximum 1400 lumens of neutral and white light. Powered by the included 3500mAh battery, this headlamp is USB-C rechargeable and includes a battery level indicator. It is made of a magnesium alloy for better strength, impact resistant to 2 meters (6.6ft), with less weight. Plus it is completely dustproof and waterproof to 2m. The perforated reflective headband reduces weight and creates a more comfortable feel. Use the optional top headband for a more secure fit. Perfect for work or outdoor adventures, and those needing extremely bright hands-free lighting and long runtimes in a small, light-weight package.
*Note: As of September 1, 2021 the HM65R includes an ARB-L18-3400 (3400mAh) and not the 3500mAh battery.
Looks like a good light and the water proof makes it even better. Real good for camping
I did a review on this light on my channel. I use it when I am out in my wheelchair at night, where I live sidewalks are more theory than fact, so it really saves me a lot of problems.
I have it and I love it. I use it when I walk my dog and the battery life is awesome. I also got the Fenix LR40R which is so so good. The battery in that is unbelievable. And it’s super bright. I have a few Fenix flashlights and love them all. I take three when I’m camping. One for my tend. My headlight and my LR40R. All are super amazing
Just bought one for dog walking and after loads of research i settled for this one and it is really great. The mid setting in the floodlight mode illuminates a wide area and leaves hands free for the essentials of dog walking. The spotlight is really powerfull but for street use is not needed so battery life will be extended . It has a single 18650 rechargeable battery which charges in about 2 hours and the headlamp is comfortable to wear. So glad i bought this and now Mr Twiglet and i feel much happier when leaving the house at night time.
Thanks for the review. I want to walk my dog at night during the summer months. Will this model fit large heads?
@@derp8575 Yes the headband has a lot of adjustment so think you should be ok.Since writing review i had an issue with the right hand spot lamp failing but Amazon replaced it and sent a new complete headlamp. The top headband has a small split in it on the edge as well so overall not so good but i am still using it for dog walking and occassional projects around the house and the 3 levels of brightness works well - i use the middle setting on the left hand flood lamp for dog walking and it illuminates a wide area,it's also easier than carrying a torch which means both hands are free.
@@twiglet2214 Much appreciated! Hopefully I'll be able to remove the band that goes overhead. It makes sense for helmets. Seems unnecessary for my needs. Have any wires been fitted into the top band?
By the way, Mr. Twiglet is a fantastic name for your dog. 😂
@@derp8575 The top head band is optional so it can be removed easily - snip with scissors the easiest method methinks Derp.No external wires - the torch is self contained and battery change out is easy by unscrewing the battery cap - it's a single 3400mah 18650 rechargeable battery - can't vouch for longevity since night walks are 10 - 15 minutes only but some comments say the Fenix data is a bit stretched re battery longevity ? My USB charger has outputs rated at 1.0 amp and 2.4 amps - the 1.0 amp will trickle charge and take a long time so i always charge from the 2.4 amp outlet.I only use the left hand flood lamp on the mid setting which is plenty for my needs and the right hand spot lamp is very powerful indeed but obviously with both on battery drain will accelerate.
The lamp itself is very rugged and well constructed but Mrs Twiglet ( Dr Twiglet ) thinks the 2 small push switches are a bit fiddly although i find them ok once you get used to them - just tip the lamp slightly forward and voila - easy peasy, lemon squeezy ! Chargers for the battery,if you're going to buy spare batteries, are quite reasonable on Amazon, although you could use the USB on the headlamp to charge spares if required.Overall a good piece of kit and Mr Twiglet, the Jack Russell, is as happy as a dog with 2 tails when he sees me getting the paraphernalia ready for our night walk Derp and is very flattered that you like his name.
PS looked on Amazon ( UK ) and Fenix also make a HM65R-T headlamp for runners with a single headband which looks like the HM65R ?
finally an upgrade for the hp25, looking forward to testing this light for wildland fire fighting
Have used it for several seasons
This should be released with the HL60R's desert & camo color theme.
Very cool !!
Just purchased one of these for fishing can not wait to try it out

@@philipmann4016 So sorry. That happened to me with the Thrunute TN41. This HM65R I've dropped from above 6 ft into concrete, twice, etc. Been lucky I guess. If it fails I'll talk shit on Fenix forever, 100 bucks comes at huge sacrifice for me. I'm talking reduced diet. Good luck to both of us.
It's all in the battery
The only thing that would make this headlamp perfect, is a dedicated red led light, to preserve night vision.
Yeah decent red light with multiple lumen settings. At least 3. Lets say 2 lumen, 10 lumen and 20 lumen.
recently we have Thrunite TH01 headlamp(1500 lumen) on sale now, only $39.99 then you could get one, search and buy the TH01 on Amazon now!!!
@@JessicaLee-ej8os this is SPAM and has nothing to do with Fenix headlamps. 1500 fake lumen by the way. And retails usually for $49,95 so it has 20% off now. But reputation???? Thrunite TN36 advertises with "11000 lumen". FAKE! DO NOT BUY THRUNITE PRODUCTS THEY ARE FAKE!!!
I have 2 just ordered 3 more for the kids. Only wish is that theyd add a red light to this model. Other than that the lowest white setting will do. Great headlamps
We also sell smaller headlamps that do include a red light, like the HM50R V2.0-perfect for the kids. www.fenixlighting.com/products/fenix-hm50r-v2-rechargeable-headlamp
@FenixLightingUSA ya I know I appreciate the reply. Just make a hm65r with a red option lol
Love it.... wish was little lighter for those of us who wear hard hat from dark to dark
Nice video! Is this headlamp recommended for cave exploration? Or is there another Fenix headlamp that is better suited for it? Thanks!
It most certainly can be, but if you need longer runtimes at higher outputs, you may want to choose a headlamp with an external battery pack. The HP25R V2.0 and the HP30R V2.0 are good options. They are larger and are best suited for wearing on a helmet. See them at: www.fenixlighting.com/collections/headlamps
This is cool. You should update your best thrower though.
When I use a headlamp in the tunnels I also use a spotlight for aiming down to see far down.
This along with the fact that headlamps are too shallow to throw makes it a little strange to put this in the headlamp. But a better thrower you guys need Acebeam and other brands reach much farther.

Really nice. No red, however, it has everything else except -- I need RED. Thanks
Acebeam h30. Check it out
@@phoenix4ever367 not really an alternative. Fenix set at 400 lumen will last 21 hours with just a 18650 3500mah battery while Acebeam H30 set at 380 lumen mode will last only 7,5 hours with a 21700 5100mah batterij. Acebeam seems not so efficient if it outputs less lumen with a stronger and bigger battery the usage time drops 200% compared to hm65r! I agree this Fenix HM65R really requires an RGB LED upgrade.
@@BruteWillis that just can't add up. I feel like fenix is lying about those numbers just looking and standard math for 3500mah vs 5100mah output doesn't seem right. I Bet there is considerable stepdown in Lumen output in that 22 hour runtime. Acebeam most likely only published high lumen runtime. Just do some research, big controversy with this light.
@@phoenix4ever367 Fenix claims to measure lumen according to ANSI lumen measurement standards. By the way.... The Acebeam you mentioned claims to output 4000 lumen lol.

when will the hm65r superraptor be available to the USA?
That is just a fancy name that a distributor in Finland used for this headlamp. There is no difference between that one and ours.
@@FenixLightingUSA according to your own websites in the usa and finland... there is a difference.
@@carls.6746 Sorry for the confusion. This is news to us. We'll investigate this further. Thanks.
If the rechargeable battery is not a standard sized battery like a AA then it would would be a no go. You do not want to run out of power and not have easily available back up batteries instead of expensive hard to find batteries.
We do offer rechargeable batteries for sale. That way you can always have a backup. www.fenixlighting.com/product-category/accessories/batteries-chargers/ In the case of this headlamp you can take a power bank to recharge the light via its USB port. And we do have AA headlamps for sale too: www.fenixlighting.com/product-category/headlamps/?filter_battery-type=aa
Good luck in finding a AA/AAA powered light producing 1400 lumens 😅 18650 is pretty much the standard for powerful lights today. But in an emergency you can always use 2 x CR123 which you can buy most places they sell AA(A) batteries. If you want a headlamp that can use both AA, 18650 and CR123/16340 check out the ledlenser H14R.2. It's bigger and bulkier but takes "all" kinds of batteries.
How long does it light in turbo mode and does it have higher lumens in another model

@@ylmazyldrm2675 So far, very much. At a hundred bucks though, the verdict won't be in for 4 more years, at it's warranty end. Hehe.
Does it weight less than the acebeam h30?
The HM65R is 97 grams including the headband (excluding battery). Looking at Acebeam's website, theirs is 80 grams for the light + 38.8 for the headband= 118.8 grams. So yes, the Fenix HM65R is lighter.
Can up to 8hr for one fully charged ?
Maximum runtime is 300 hours if you use only the low floodlight mode. For a complete list of runtimes look to the ANSI chart at: www.fenixlighting.com/product/fenix-hm65-rechargeable-headlamp/
Can you also use 123A ?
Yes it can use two CR123A batteries.
Two days ago I bought Fenix hm65r. When I checked the battery level, one light was on which indicates that the battery level is %21-%40 according to the user manual. After a few try different combination of lighting the battery dropped below %20. I checked it and one light was flashing.
So I began charging headlamp using my samsung phone charger. Later on immediately I saw that three lights were on constantly and the latter one was flashing as in this video:
ruclips.net/video/Ff9xsMoKOcs/видео.html
I use the same charger which is seen in this video. I'm not sure if it's suitable for charging it:
ruclips.net/video/QbTRyO4ee8k/видео.html
This situation didn't change for about 2 hours. Still waiting for it to see any change. Is this normal?
As far as understand from user manual, after starting to charge, one indicator should flash first. Other indicators should be off till %21. After that one light should be on constantly and the second light should flash so on..
Is there anything wrong with my headlamp?
Please try Boruit headlamps, Boruit is top headlamp manufacturer in China.

I bought this headlamp for my dog, but now he thinks he's a superhero with a spotlight! 🐶💡
Why a great head lamp such this doesn't have a zoom!!
With this headlamp you have both a spotlight and a floodlight which account for the different widths you would get with a focusable lens.

Lols.. Punching holes in the headband to reduce weight? You're joking right? The thing weighs a ton. Removing material from the strap is one of the silliest ways to try and save weight on this.
It weighs a ton but is a workhorse. You're better off not even trying to mention weight cause it's a losing battle.
Every little bit helps. This headlamp is only 3.4 oz. (97g) excluding battery which is extremely lightweight for a headlamp with this much power.
