Amazing how well the wheelbase matched up. This seems easier & less expensive than just doing an LS swap with a new suspension. Nice thing is that you don't have to keep the nasty catalytic convertors because its an antique, put some outlaw mufflers on it. it needs an old exterior visor from the 50's. Bring it to Texas, we need ice cream in this heat wave. Theme song on this should be Van Halen's ice cream man.
thats fkn cool, i kinda like the mud tires , you could make a cover for he roof unit out of an old wheelbarrow maybe with some old school louvers in it
Proves that it can be done if your serious. I had doubts, thats is true but in this case, you have increased the value ten fold. Very nice so far. I will be checking these out. I know mags look nice but the original wheels give it a sleeper mode, nice exhaust with cutouts is a must
Of course, the value is in the eyes of the buyer. Some would say this is now junk. Some would say to change only the drivetrain and not the whole frame. Some would say to just leave it alone and and get is running with original. Me? Drivetrain only keeping the orignal floor but, what he did was really cool. I'll keep warching.
@@RalphSampson... There's a reason we upgraded the entire chassis- Now it's 100% modern era mechanicals. You can drive it anywhere and buy parts anywhere. No more hard to find brake parts and low horsepower engines. We retained the vintage look but made it a completely reliable truck. Just changing the driveline would still require massive upgrades to steering, suspension, all electricals- It's far easier and much more simple to just body swap it.
@@GrenadeMotorsports I have 1962 F100. It's my profile picture (or avatar or whatever it's called). I have been debating on losing the 302 and swapping in a used 4.6, 5.0, or maybe a 5.4. I haven't given much thought to the electronics (dash panel). Classic Instruments makes an original looking instrument cluster that may help me with the electronics. Thanks for the heads up. It's likely I will never do it but, ya never know.
looking at doing something similar with a '56 Metro and a Trailblazer chassis. would love to have your take on it. Thoughts being that a 6 cylinder setup would require less changes to the Doghouse and firewall.
something I discovered in my deep dive, trailblazer wheelbase is 113" the metro is 113.1". Trailblazer is 4" narrower than your Tahoe. some variants have air assist suspension stock. I'm thinking this is looking good as a possibility.
Do you think it would be possible somehow to keep the original steering column and steering wheel of the van if the donor chassis would be a manual transmission chevy pickup ?
Oh yeah- you should see the latest Metro van I'm doing- No way I can use the OE wheels but I have a mint set that nobody seems to want! See the latest videos and thanks for watching!!
Grenade Motorsports can’t wait,,, I love your builds,,, I’m a dodge guy myself,, if I’d kept the 48 dodge one ton , I’d built,, eventually I was planning on swapping body over to a2500 3/4 ton 4wd frame,,, but unfortunately,, had to sell both trucks after 2016 flood in my hometown... life happens
Love watching this show! Your the mad scientist of automobiles!
Thanks so much!

I totally agree! This truck is in service for several years now, in PA. Thanks for watching!
Keep it looking original looking from the outside.
It's staying just like you see it! Thanks for watching!
That Metro was clean to start with, it must have been fun building this.
It was! Thanks so much for watching and stay tuned for the road test!
Awesome 👏🏾
Thanks man and thanks for watching!! :)
Paul is a genius! Great work. Love seeing the progress.
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Just subscribed 👍👍 I’m building one of these as well at the moment
We were the first to complete that swap over 5 years ago. It became world famous. ruclips.net/video/WF3KgJSAmxA/видео.html
Amazing how you do these mash ups
Thanks- this one was incredible how well they fit together!
I love your work. I'd like to do something very similar with 55 Ford Vanette. Real sure that I need to rewatch your videos a bunch more times. Thanks.
This project is almost 100% finished. Keep watch for the next video upload because it looks and runs amazing! Thanks for watching!

Go for it! It's all about wheelbase and pedal box location. Measure ONE THOUSAND TIMES and cut 6 or 7 lol Best of luck!

Grenade Motorsports maybe I’ll get lucky
are they both the same wheel base ... can't be thahoe is way bigger
They were within 3 inches and I moved the IH body to fit the Tahoe AND rearranged the steering and pedals completely. They fit. Thanks for watching!
@@GrenadeMotorsports I ask. because I have a 67 ih w a 102 inch wb....what could I use?
